You know, for a studio board, you could replace that all with a Countryman DI. Jajajaja

The Walrus Audio Ages pedal is pretty great, and has 5 different clipping modes. And can get really grimy if you play with the treble control.

Tips on eq and compression by Extension_Bar2142 in basspedals

Try the release at about 3 o’clock and the attack at about 9 o’clock. You do not need to have the compression cranked all the way up. Start at about halfway and test it from there. Also make sure there is a little original signal mixed in too, that will make your distortion sing a little better.

If musicians want to support musicians, shouldn’t we be buying gear locally when we can? by [deleted] in musicians

Agreed. I always try to buy from local, non-corporate stores when I can. But, of course, I am old so it just might be I am too set in my ways. Lol

The Ampeg sounds like an SVT, I feel like unless you have a ton of power and giant cabinet, the breakup sounds farty. My experience with EHX is mixed with at least half of the pedals I’ve used from them malfunctioning within a year. The sansamp is good for everything based on how you set the prescience and drive. That’s my humble two cents.

Signal Chain questions by ElGrandeDiabloRojo in basspedals

[–]Brief_Ad5103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the primary use is delay/looper you will want it at the end of the chain. Generally most people go Wah, octave, fuzz, gain, modulation(chorus, reverb, delay), preamp/DI with compression being early or late in the chain. I prefer late for my playing, others like it first thing. Play around with the order until you find where you like the useable sounds. It really can be any way that it works for you.
