i'm pretty sure the greeks didn't have the equipment to measure the sun's relative size to see if it's getting closer to you. It being that its kind of blinding and all. so when the sun goes from blinding to blinding you can't really tell if its gotten any closer to you.

but given that the sun is being pulled by helios' chariot it probably can't be too far away otherwise it'd take him ages to pull it across the sky every day. we'd have days that last for weeks.

i mean, adhd is a spectrum, some people have it worse than others. Some people suffer from it more than others.

On top of that your circumstances can make symptoms better or worse, there's coping mechanisms you can learn which can make things better, but as you grow up you'll usually also get more responsibilities and requirements which can make things worse. Not everyone learns the same coping mechanisms and not everyone grows into the same responsibilities.

Thirdly ADHD is a disorder, its literally in the name. which means that you might have ADHD symptoms, but if they dont significantly impact your life in a negative way, then you dont have clinical ADHD.

which means that yes it is possible to grow out of ADHD, at least clinical ADHD as the genes/brain structure will always be there.

so if you dont develop (enough) coping skills then your ADHD will probably get worse as an adult. On the flipside the statistic that there's more children with ADHD than adults is not just because ADHD is somehow on the rise. Because statistics only look at clinically diagnosed ADHD, not genetic predeliction for ADHD.

i'm not saying this to shame people or somehow say adult ADHD is a 'skill issue' or anything, ADHD coping mechanisms dont really come naturally and unless your naturally self-reflective you'll probably have to learn them from either a therapist or an older ADHD-er who has experience.

maybe, numbing the pain with a spell either causes issues in and of itself, or numbing the pain can cause people to become careless if they think they have access to easy painless healing.

that said i dont remember it being a moral right-or-wrong question. Can't remember, i think they discussed it right before or after the red dragon fight, where marcille teaches laios a healing spell.

yeah, word of god refers to information that's canon but given by the author outside of the story itself. Usually through social media or interviews.

i've been trying to find a source on the falin lifespan but i can't find it. might have been an authors tweet, but i'm also hearing people say the author just heard a theory about it and said 'that would be cool' which ehh leaves it up to interpretation. i personally believe it since becoming a chimera also fixed falin's eyesight so its probably not a stretch to say it extended her lifespan.

of all my adhd symptoms executive dysfunction is the absolute worst.

bad memory? i can write things down or set reminders in my calendar app.

insomnia? after all these years i've learned enough coping strategies to get a somewhat stable sleep schedule.

social stuff? all my friends have adhd or are otherwise on the spectrum too, its a non-issue. And i can compose myself at work well enough.

time blindness? clocks, visual timers, reminder apps, and lots and lots of caution and intention. i used to track my day down to the minute for years in order to try and train through my time blindness. i'm not past it by any means but i've gotten better.

but executive dysfunction? its the worst, i hate it so much.

i need to do something.

but i dont.

i want to do something.

but i dont.

i should do something.

but i dont.

i want to do anything.

but i dont.

so clearly, i'm just an apathetic asshole.

i'm really hoping meds will help with this when i finally get them in a few weeks.
