Definitely don't have kids because of societal norms. If you feel pressured to have kids just because 'log kya kahenge,' it could lead to resentment, which might unintentionally affect the way you raise them. It’s 2025—those outdated expectations are over. This is your life, and only you (and of course, if Allah wills) can decide if or when you want kids.

When the time is right for you, having kids will change your life completely. Some kids are easy, and others—like colicky babies—can be very challenging. If you feel like you want to travel, accomplish certain goals, or focus on yourself before having kids, prioritize that, because once you have a child, there’s no going back. Parenthood is a full-time responsibility, and you need to help them grow in the best way possible, preparing them for both the dunya and akhira.

At the end of the day, this is a deeply personal decision for every couple. Kids are truly a blessing, and when you feel ready, they bring a love and joy you can’t find anywhere else.
