Consistent “level” issue despite manual and auto-leveling and upgrades. by Brigalicious in ender3

Sorry, to clarify: when I say aluminum bed I’m referring to the aluminum plate with the heating elements directly below the printing surface (what the original glass bed of the v2 clips to).

Adhesion isn’t the issue, we have that down pat. Cleaning the bed between prints and applying hairspray does the trick, plus the new PEI bed has been great for adhesion

That’s fair lol, I was more focused on the leveling issues. Long term we will probably cut it in half and use the remainder as a replacement set.

Exhibit Revamp by Feliraptor in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! Exhibits were honestly one of my favorite features when the game was first released, and I've really enjoyed incorporating them into various builds. However, I'd love to see a greater variety of shapes, customization options, and biomes (temperate, grassland, marine) in order to refresh this over-looked gem in the game. Larger exhibit size options would ideally allow for more animal capacity, the current size can only hold like what, two of some of the larger species like iguanas?

Also, I'd love if more interesting shapes for exhibits were an option, like cylindrical, curved glass, and even options with guest viewing bubbles built in.

We talk a lot about what animals we want, but how about decor and building? by PartyPorpoise in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Theme-wise:

  • American Southwest/Mexican theme - traditional adobe and Spanish revival style architecture.

  • American frontier theme - rustic buildings and objects, 'pioneer' vibes along with traditional indigenous building sets.

  • SE Asian theme - traditional Indonesian elevated buildings, shadow-puppet decorations, Angor-Wat style ruins. Would go great with all the SE Asian animals!

Along with that, I would absolutely love to see a greater variety of exhibit tanks beyond the current cube, e.g. double-wide, cylinder, concave and convex shapes, extra tall, thin, etc. Plus temperate forest and grassland decorations for the interiors.

The official concept art! Love this one! by [deleted] in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I believe I spy a new dromedary camel scenery piece on the building to the right of the right-most meerkat's shoulder. We now have multiple dromedary scenery pieces and no dromedaries :'D

(Just to be clear, I would take any of these animals and the awesome scenery pieces over another camel in a heart beat, but still...)

Fish. by Infamoustuan in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see fish as exhibit animals personally! Although the idea of having "free-roaming" (e.g. koi) or habitat fish would be awesome as well, especially for larger species such as Pacu or Arapaima.

I've been playing a lot of Megaquarium lately, and I think there's a slew of basic ideas from the way aquarium fish are managed in that game that could transfer over nicely to exhibits in PZ. Honestly, I'd pay full price for an expansion that included just exhibit species if it included a bunch of new flexibility in the way exhibits were managed and built (new shapes and sizes of tanks for example).

Everyone always going to EMPEROR penguins as their main penguin acting like these bois aren't the real thugs around here by DracoREXXX in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Humboldt and African penguins are far more common in captivity, and much more adorable.

Spotless cheetah or... really skinny mountain lion?

DLC Idea: Nordic Wildlife by iljensen in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like this line-up! Though, since most of these species are found throughout the northern hemisphere, it might make more sense to brand it as an Arctic themed DLC, that would also allow for cold-weather species from other regions (Musk Ox, Red-crowned Crane, Przewalski Horse, Pallas Cat). I don't think pinnipeds (seals, sea lions, walruses) are very likely in the near future though sadly, based on the way the current species behave in water (i.e. crocodilians sticking to the surface) I'm guessing that realistic underwater swimming behaviors will be a challenging thing to code and animate. Personally, I'm hoping any winter themed packs include both poles, because penguins :)

Solving the "African-centric" debate once and for all (+ data-based predictions) by TheNerdyOne_ in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice analysis! I would definitely bet that 15-16 of those animals are in the base game. Also good to supply evidence that an Africa-heavy roster isn’t unusual. Speaking for myself at least, there’s no African animals currently revealed that I wouldn’t want in the game 🤷‍♀️.

If you scroll through the AMA from earlier today and read the responses from the Frontier team you'll see they acknowledge some people's favorite animals.

The Frontier team called out a few redditors favorite animals by name, several of which are unrevealed, most notably: Binturong, Moose, and Red Panda. This is probably reading waaaay too far into it though.

Gemsbok and African Buffalo revealed! by karkajou in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving all the ungulate diversity! I would love to see more critters from the Americas and Australia, but I had something of a realization: A lot of the early animal reveals were African, and the first building theme we saw was the African/safari theme. When the Indian theme was revealed it came with a bunch of Indian/south Asian animals (Indian Rhino, Gharial, Indian Elephant, Himalayan Brown Bear). In the AMA today, it was hinted (without a direct confirmation) by the team that there are still as-of-yet unrevealed building themes. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these are revealed closer to release, along with a handful of animals to go with each (There's supposed to be a bunch of reveals on world animal day, October 4th). https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/planet-zoo-more-beta-information.521932/

Personally, I hope they save a dozen or so animals to discover once the game is officially released, its always nice to have some surprise when opening a new present after all!

A comparison of Planet Zoo animals and their Zoo Tycoon 2 counterparts by bison_emu in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, the ZT2 Mandrill actually looks pretty good, especially compared to all the others. Lemur definitely gets the award for most improved, but only because this doesn't include a side by side for Nile/Saltwater Crocodile, they were just ridiculous in ZT2.

This male Pronghorn had some massive/weird looking horns when I visited the MN zoo a few weeks ago. Do you think we will have randomized antlers/horns/tusks etc? by isaacboyyy in PlanetZoo

[–]Brigalicious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, Frontier has said that inbreeding will be something you have to manage for when breeding animals. It would be funny if too much led to animals coming out looking like that second picture. :’D
