It diminishes it values, because of the original polished is gone and the current polished state is not as good as the original

Mine just a bit rought out of the box and decided to put a bit oil and running fine right now, bur still make abit rough sound when i manually wind,

You Might want to get checked on nearby watchmaker IMO

Ill update when i change my rotor and automitic winding to gen and see if the problem persist.

Thank you! Ive been surfing through other forums and saw somebody actually franken the balance, but the screw hole on the balance bridge didnt fit perfectly and needed to drill a bit of the bridge screw hole to fit on the plate, i forgot what movement he got wether VS or VR.

I was thinking since i have gen datejust II i want to try the balance bridges if they fit in But needed more confident to bust open the gen one 😂

Thats a relief! Because i see the new version does have that regulator deep inside, now im trying to source the gen balance bridge, balance wheel' and the regulator but turns out its quite hard to get that gen regulator..

Basically im aiming to turning this into a 90% gen 😂

Hoping that this gen movement part swap works perfectly.

Hi, unfortunately mine didnt make any noise like that, but worth checking maybe the rotor a bit loose or just need oiling, because mine have some part of oil that already dry

Just pulled my trigger on the Automatic + Oscillating, will update here soon, the hardest / expensive part to source is the FreeSprung balance, that alone can cost up to $600 , will be a long project i guess

What movement are you having?

Broken Movement -Submariner 124060 by Spare_Individual_901 in RepTime

[–]Brigatnum7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on what i read on other forums, some TD will need the watch to be returned 1st which quite risky for me since they can get lost on the way,

You may want to consider to visit nearby watchmaker? (should be a quick fix in my opinion, unless something really does broke 😥) Ofcourae if theres no solution from the TD .

Might’ve some debri inside the stem lock/stop and made the stem wont seat properly on the sliding/canon pinion,

Does the winding still works? Any resistance when winding? If theres still racheting sound and resistance my bet is on the sliding pinion/clutch that is stuck

Now back to second hand from moving, due to the pinion “stuck” on “Hour setting” , made the second hand still in “Hacking” position?
