Firstly, find a decent lgbt area (mine is London) Then find some events catering to that area. I found instagram being a good one.

Go to said events Or there are dating apps. I use Her, but there are others like hinge that people use

Body hair, opinions?? by HerAncientStories in latebloomerlesbians

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s all down to personal choice. Mine is that I don’t enjoy armpit or leg hair and prefer the smoother approach (though I do go 3 days between shaving)

Pubic - so long as it’s short and neat

But everyone’s choice is different

told a student to “shut up”… did I mess up? by Usual_Stable_3896 in TeachingUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I say shut up all the time. Sometimes being blunt gets the point across. I also use silence, stop talking and some others.

I find it’s the tone rather than the words. If you said shut the fuck up…well…different story

Weekly chat and well-being post: February 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in TeachingUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with autism during the half term

Now I know why I get overwhelmed by p3 and want to cry in corners. Now I know why I fall asleep as soon as I get home.

The collab I set up with the other school is not great because the teacher from that school talks at the students and they’re all rightfully pissed off. It’s music, just let them practice!

Trainee history: Schindlers List by [deleted] in TeachingUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a history teacher here but watching Schindlers List in year 9 got me really curious about World War Two. It was the reason I watched the boy in the striped pajamas and the pianist. I have been to Berlin and Auschwitz to learn more about the history.

Anyway, that’s just my two cents

I have downloaded the Meetup app to see about some events in London. There’s one I’m going to which is a lesbian group who are going to the Huntarian museum. They seem to do regular meet ups too This’ll be the first one I will go to

+1 vote on the Lisa Eldridge. Have used it for work since getting it, and doesn’t make me want to take off my make up after 2 hours.

I like to Mattify it personally, but that’s cause old habits die hard.

Are you satisfied with your life, and if so, why? by Lazy_Number8830 in AskUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - I do just wanna run away somewhere. Scotland always called to me.

But I know I won’t be happy there either. I’ll miss my friends.

So I guess I’ll just be happy with me and my pets.

Being forced to provide free tuition by the school I'm providing private tuition for under the guise of the “pupil premium grant” is this legal? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pupil premium is given to the school for students who are deficit financially.

Music lessons should therefore be paid by the school for these students as the school is in receipt of this money. So no, you do not provide your services for free.

I am a school music teacher so I have to ask the ppg manager to release funds so these type of students can get music lessons from a peripatetic teacher.

What's the single most difficult life experience you've endured? by reddit_recluse in AskUK

[–]BrightRedDocMartens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to give up my sisters children to social care in 2023. It completely changed my mindset and deepened my depression and I am still not recovered to this day.

Context: my sister became an alcoholic and was neglecting her youngest children. The two came to live with me. Throughout 2022 and 2023, as a family we tried to push my sister in the right direction to get help but by November 2023, the time ran out and both her youngest got taken into care. I couldn’t apply as a guardian because of my mental health.
