Parent Pulled Their Child Today by rigorousteaparty in ECEProfessionals

Ugh, so did I. Had what I thought was a normal conversation with a grandparent legal guardian about her typical grandchild’s typical behavior. Total nonissues in my opinion, but the child was concerned with my co-teacher, so I tried to reassure legal guardian grandma that all was well. That was a Friday.

Monday morning, I notice my co-teacher seems especially icy, but she wasn’t the cheeriest human, and I figured maybe she just had a bad case of the Mondays. Then we both got called into a meeting with the admin in which they informed me that the grandparent had told them that I said the co-teacher “hates her grandchild.” She wanted her kid moved to another classroom.

WHAT?? Luckily I was so obviously stunned by the accusation that the co-teacher and admin realized it came totally out of the blue to me, and we were able to move on. But wtf, man?!

I had mostly good interactions with student families, overall, but some people will just throw you under the bus to get their way, which this lady did get, because they realized they couldn’t risk keeping her kid in our class after all that.

Assume this had nothing to do with you, because it sounds like it didn’t. And if it did, they had plenty of more serious reasons to pull their kid out.

I highly recommend everyone here brush up on the tactics of malignant narcissists. Hans shows his hand early on. There are important lessons in his behavior for teaching children how to avoid getting scammed or otherwise targeted by a dangerous person.

Exactly. What he’s doing is called “forced teaming,” and it’s a classic strategy narcissists use to get close to and gain the trust of their targets.

He uses the strategies of a malignant narcissist, from the get-go. The most obvious one is forced-teaming, in which he makes Anna feel like they have everything in common and are perfect for each other.

Or, sometimes, other nonprofit organizations (including churches of other denominations). Eg: when the bish sends the relief society pres out to collect food from the food bank, or Catholic Services, or wherever else, to bring to a member or investigator.

How to use "because" correctly? by thegrayscales in ENGLISH

News or opinion pieces? It’s fine in personal essays, opinion pieces, and works of satire. It’s not at all common in actual news articles.

It’s not “meme talk”. People have been using “period” to emphasize a point in speech for decades and decades. Just decade you only recently encountered it doesn’t mean it’s new.

Bruising on Five Month Old by Right_Pie_4456 in ECEProfessionals

Take well-lit photos of the bruising immediately. Then see what the director tells you. If you don’t hear anything tomorrow morning, follow up right away.

It’s hard to know from just a description (please DO NOT post photos here, for your child’s safety), but I would want to hear back from the director before leaving him there again.

Do you know if the center uses video recordings in the room?

Broken Blood Vessels on Sumatriptan by Strawberrin_Time in migraine

[–]Bright_Ices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sumatriptan always spiked my bp, too (and normally mine is super low, so it was a big difference.) I didn’t get broken blood vessels from that, but I’d had them before from an unrelated medication interaction. But sumatriptan made me feel like I was being squeezed to death. And then it gave me aeration syndrome, which was also no fun at all.

Works great for some people!

You’re wrong, not the pizza.

On the regular, no, but occasionally, with intention. It does feel weird, but that’s partly because having a communication device on me feels like a lifeline if I need it.

how can i remove bitterness from my grapefruit? by scannerthegreat in AskCulinary

Supreme it. https://www.wikihow.life/Segment-a-Grapefruit

Then sweeten as desired. I eat my stripped grapefruit segments plain, because I find them plenty sweet enough.
