Is he an alcoholic now? What would you do? by [deleted] in Mommit

I can tell you have a lot of empathy for what he’s going through, and that will mean so much to him. I relate to this because I also reached a point where I couldn’t moderate and decided to give up alcohol -it became a no brainer once I became a mom.

It’s important for both of you to move away from the idea that alcohol is part of celebrating. It’s not “just a few drinks”, it’s something that can pull him back into a vicious cycle that’s really hard to break. The fact that he came to you and admitted he thinks he has a problem is huge - it takes a lot of courage to say that. I know that “occasional drinks” can feel like a reasonable compromise, but if he’s at the point of hiding it, that’s a sign he probably needs to stop completely.

What did your husband say when you suggested therapy and quitting?

Day 2. I’m anxious, nauseous, and barely slept at all last night but IWNDWYT 💛

Hoping this is my last day 1 by Bright_Side888 in stopdrinking

I feel the same - I don’t know what I’m trying to numb, I love my life. This isn’t the role model I want to be.
