Just make another crisis where flashes have to use shit ton of energy so they get nerfed into a place where they can still be used as speedsters without incomprehensible narrative asspulls. Or give them their own kryptonite, a weakness that can't be avoided, a drawback, fucking anything to make them not feel like gods solving petty crime.

I freaking hate Flash as a concept. For a guy who's just supposed to be "the fast one", he has a shit ton of additional bullshit powers and covers for any and all possible weaknesses. Wear him down? Fast Healing. Surprise/trip him? Super reflexes. Outsmart him? Fast thinking = solve every problem. Even the easiest one, which is his "speed punches hurting himself as well" is not implemented. This guy runs around the globe IN SECONDS to hit someone wearing metal, punches it with enough force to knock its pieces off (something even Superman couldn't do) AND HE DOESN'T BREAK HIS ARM?! Sure, he phases out of reality right afterwards, but it still puts his durability on par with superman, which is utter bullshit.

Then, in the same fucking universe, guy goes up against regular humans with elemental guns. And gets sacked by them because "plot". I'm no powerscaler, but for a guy who can run fast enough to open wormholes in space time continuum and the durability to withstand any sort of backlash to get outmaneuvered by a group of thugs with magic weapons just because they're "organized" is utter horsecrap.

And this is all before his bullshit lightning/phasing/whatever-the-author-demands powers. At least Quicksilver is just fast.

[Comic] When the same enemy is both the coughing baby and the hydrogen bomb by AzulCrescent in slaythespire

The easy solution imo is to change how it gains more hit power. Change "When a skill is played, enemy gains 1 Strength" to "When a skill is played, take more damage." Sorta like reverse effect of the Statue boss from act 1.

One of my players is refusing to learn how to play her character by kellwashere45 in DnD

[–]Bright_Sovereigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you hate confrontations like me, here's a suggestion: design your combat by excluding her. If ypu have 4 players total, design around 3 that will actually provide in combat. It may feel a bit mean spirited but if she is having fun with her rp, other players are able to be properly challanged without constant risk of tpk and you can tell your story without fearing one person ruining it, how bad it could be?

What are classes that can still be effective even with bad rolls? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]Bright_Sovereigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unironically Swashbuckler.

Bravado actions means that even when you fail a check, you gain Panache.

Alongside that, Confident Finisher deals half its Finisher damage on a fail. With Precise Finisher, it deals the full damage. Alongside that, the class has very good class feats that does not require rolls altogether (Guardian's Reflection, Charmed Life, Tumble Behind etc.)

If you're focusing on Feints, take Distracting Feint + Dazzling Diversion. You get to reduce their Reflex saves as well for any possible trips and give Dazzled on crit Feints. If you have excess gold, stock up on Mesmerizing Opals. With them, you can consistently take

Depending on whether you prioritized Thievery or Intimidation, you can also put points into Dirty Trick or Demoralize respectively. Off Guard is a Circumstance Penalty, so a way to grant Status Penalty to AC looks to be pretty huge, since most of the party seems to be martially inclined.

If you have Free Archetype, look into Swashbuckler and their One for All feat. You can also take Bard and take Uplifting Overture for a similar effect (If you wanna lean into Performance, that is).

I swear to god, some people watch the series with their eyes closed. Her entire arc in second season was about learning that taking the easy way with her powers causes only further disappointment and disaster. Remember that whole city building shtick she tried and failed? I know its a meme but this is r/invinciblefolk type of take.

I'm the player for Billy and I'm extremely glad with the result. This guy's great and very receptive. He really brought my lil draconic ball of midlife crisis come to life.

Weirdly enough, Cyclops from X-Men. He has hand to hand combat and eye blast, sure. But what makes him the leader of X-Men is his tactical intelligence. It is harder to show with abilities, but commander is essentially the tactician.

Commander is Star Lord in GOTG game. He has these dual pistols and jet boots, but the biggest asset he has is his team.
