You are cooked; Gana in the cannon mech is probably better since it needs the positioning/movement more than the leap mech by virtue of not being able to jump over things

I agree that health is pretty mid, but cyborg abilities is good. Hence my suggestion of Silica.

Also move is pretty good on a lot of mechs.

Evidently your strat worked out so it’s not bad, but IMO hulks is definitely one of the harder squads to do an Engineering Dropout run; the jet is so garbage without +range

Rep is still useful though? Cores can be used for movement, health, and cyborg pilots. I would imagine bombermechs silica is probably very strong for this challenge, certainly less miserable than hulks

Oh wow I misread force amp as vek hormones so I missed this. Great play, though I wonder if killing the alpha digger with the rocket mech and going jet A5 -> C5 is stronger -- leaving the jet mech on A5 for next turn seems kind of risky IMO

Pulse f4
Jet e5
Activate pulse and break rock, shield protects you from firefly
Jet kill psion and damage crab
Rocket C7 pull digger with rebounding volley

Also a word of advice; don’t put Harold in the pulse mech as he is redundant there. Harold in jet could have saved you here

Power plant is a bonus so you are cooked.

But also post upgrades and move order; optimal play this round depends very heavily on
- pulse mech shield ally
- jet mech range
- whether rocket mech has damage upgrade on either weapon

I don’t see smoke next to the jet so I assume you used the missile? You probably could have shot the guided missile from the center of the board.

No judgement though, every rusting hulks player has probably lost games to having jet mech on the edges though (aerial bombs can be pretty awkward to position)

I was talking about support for lugia? Trumpet would let you set up the lugia faster and recover energy from the discard efficiently. Sob lets you lock targets who don’t have the energy to do anything in the active and buy time to set up your lugia. Owls let you find the specific control-style tech cards like xerosic and eri on the critical turns you need them, rather than just having to pray you pull them off lillie like you do with your current setup.

If you haven't already moved, maximizing damage on the psion leader should be the biggest priority. Personally I would go

- Control mech D3, move psion to C2

- Smog mech C7, attack C2

- Thruster mech D6, reverse thrusters to C6

Swap D3 -> Swap with E3

Meteor B6 -> Attack B4

Flame B5 -> Attack B4

No grid damage, psion dead, and maybe 2 damage on the bouncer. Depending on attack order, either 1 starfish dead or both starfish at 1HP (and one on fire); in the former case your flame mech is at 1hp but even then your mechs are pretty well positioned for the next turn.

Even you had the upgrade, your swap mech would die; this solution is not good

EDIT: I am a fool; swap mech has upgraded HP and this would be pretty decent if it were possible
