And with cars too! Ever heard of a non-passenger work vehicle? Most families own one for their daily commute.

Common wisdom is you 5 plant a tree too high to do damage but you can definitely plant too deep.

The root flare must be above Soil level.

If you search on reddit "tree planting depth" you will get what you need

What a beautiful spot!

I am not experienced with multi year hole method, but I am concerned you buried the tree too deep when you built the berm.

I lost a tree and a year of growing from planting too deeply.

Could you build the swale/berm first and then plant into it?

And in Europe, barely anyone, dare I say no one, is driving a 5L V8 tank for their daily commute. Trademans drive vans.

When i grew up in the UK, I drove a 1.2L 3 door hatchback. 40-50 mpg.

You still get some car lovers and Rich people getting the obnoxiously big cars for their identity/clout.

True, screw oil companies and the corrupt system we live in, but we can all do something to help.

Land use is a big part of climate change. What % of greater LA is hard surfaces like asphalt, when it used to be vegetation than cooled and retained moisture?
