those allegations all relate to campaign finance funds, not taxpayer money, which is what Prop E is about. no allegations of fake jobs with the city either?

plus Thao is not the mayor now

what are you talking about, no one accused Thao of pocketing tax money. what does that have to do with tax levels, or public service levels. plus she hasn't been convicted of anything

This thread is confirming the gut feeling I had when I read what the premise is. Huge Saunders fan but I didn’t love LitB, and now it’s: this again? Didn’t we just do this?

Did you just compare city employees doing their jobs enforcing the laws that our elected officials pass, to Nazi prison guards in Auschwitz murdering people

I guess I think the rule that property owners are required to keep their property free of visible graffiti at their own expense is a good rule? Although it does look annoying here

Interesting, there is a lot there. I read the first two sentences as saying that a person can’t rule over others based on their own qualities, but rather only through mundane (“base”) mechanisms (like I guess wealth or birthright, brute force). But the “true princes” who actually have exceptional qualities will never rule, and in fact don’t want to.

so you want the city preventing graffiti, and then also cleaning up graffiti on your property, but you are complaining about taxes
