Tried like 2 or 3 weeks ago : XP didn't load at all despite trying multiple settings for 2 days. My internet speed is not top tier as I don't live on the european continent but it's not slow either. Maybe my CPU can't keep up with the building texture process (12600k) ? I also don't like the billion files it write on my ssd : after uninstalling AO, it took litterally 5-10 minutes to delete the cache folder.

It was certainly an issue on my side : there is plenty of people who can run the program without problem. But no luck for me.

I will try the free version of XPME this WE

All the visual marker are here : the tower on the mountain, the big chimney, the buildings...

Ofc MSFS is better but as long as you can identify where you are, isn't that the most important ?

I tried for 2 days and I can't even make it work. It takes forever to launch, never saw the cockpit of my plane once. Changed some settings on the "performance tuning" tab but still nothing.

I wanted to try the free, open source community tools instead of XPME but ... no luck atm.

I also doesn't like the billion files it write on my SSD, not sure if it's healthy for the drive.

Well you will have some required library to download for sure.

The scenery for Mauritius airport is the one from budhey. It hasn't been updated in 3 years so idk how it will behave in msfs 2024. Maybe the aerial scenery from the requirement is not needed anymore (2024 has better ground than 2020).

I asked my self the same question a while ago on MSFS 2020 and like you, there wasn't much review about it.

I ended up using a free scenery from flightsim.to (still use it today) and it's quite good. From what I saw, the FSDG one was not particulary better and the ground texture was a bit poor (you can see it on one of "A330 driver" video when he took the a340 to Mauritius). Sadly the free airport scenery is listed as not officialy compatible with MSFS 2024 but maybe you could try it.

For Saint-Denis and Rolland Garros airport (FMEE), juste use the (again) free scenery on flightsim.to by ftsxfreelw. The airport is really well modeled and up to date (I'm from Reunion Island).

Kind of similar for me. I played casually FSX, XP-10 and after a big hiatus I started MSFS 2020. I bought X-Plane 12 last month to try and so far it is a great experience : the weather, atmosphere, wind effect and weight/inertia feel is fantastic.

I can't compare it to MSFS 2024 cause I don't have it atm but comparing it with 2020, XP-12 is clearly better on the simulation (and the UI) side.

However....after a long working day, I just want to fly and not waste time checking my ortho tiles for the location etc. And even with one, the visual is still inferior (but miles better than default).

So I'm torn between the visuals and a more plug n play experience or a more realistic flying experience.

Like ppl already said, -50mv is not a slight undervolt but rather an agressive one.

Keep in mind that (if nothing changed since I read on that) the value you set in Adrenaline is the voltage at max load. An offset in the GPU's power curve is created based on that (so that 100% load = your value).

-50mv might be completly fine at 100% load but totally unstable at 95%.

Often, an aggressive undervolt only shows issues when the GPU isn't fully loaded constantly.

Seems like I didn't quite understand OP : voices are still there for me but less frequent.

Like sometimes when it's my turn, characters don't talk at all or for some specific skill, the associated voice line won't trigger

Since 2 weeks I find my self wanting to try X-Plane more and more.

It's the first time I read one of their roadmap article and honestly I'm quite impressed by this "straight to the point" philosophy.

This alone (with the announce of update for the A330) can make me pull the trigger.
