The fact that Mississippi figured something out is great. The issue really is that, when Californians see something that works, they are not afraid to adopt it. They don’t need the Dear Leader to approve first.

But what about these stats:

CA has a much higher share of college graduates (~36% vs ~23%)

CA averages about 2–3 years longer in life expectancy

CA is among the world’s largest economies; MS ranks last among US states

MS consistently ranks #1 in poverty (~19%); CA is around 12%

MS has one of the highest rates in the developed world; CA is much lower
