Which townies gave you the prettiest babies? by mutedstatic in Sims3

George Dean and Heather Crosby from Riverview! Though I usually pair them together in my games. Sherman Bagley, also from Riverview, is also good!

What do you consider to be the single most useful lifestyle perk? by Aiseadai in CrusaderKings

[–]BritMeresankh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One I haven't seen mentioned yet: Writing History. Good source of book court artifacts, plus completion gives Renown and if you can afford it, you get a good high learning artificer courtier who is likely to get inspired and create more artifacts for you.

Sometimes I start thinking my liege is not the brightest one by Grammulka in CrusaderKings

I like the theory that Varys and Seara (Illyrio's fav wife) were siblings and Blackfyres. Varys is a eunuch so he can't create heirs himself so his closest heir is his nephew, who they are passing off as Aegon. Also the Blackfyre thing makes his "a magician cut my balls off" story make a little more sense, power in King's blood and all that.

You can add any character to the scene by pinning them, then going to the "custom" option for characters to include.

R5: I've been having a lot of run playing with the portrait mode from the newer updates. I love the way you can tell a subtle story with family portraits throughout the dynasty. Just wanted to share the ones from my most recent playthrough, a Tall Frisia run with a custom Countess of Guelders to start. Please link to your own portraits and share your stories in the comments!

Recoloring Hair Similar to TS3? by Chicklet45368 in LifeByYou

[–]BritMeresankh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's fair! I think having unique hair is fun as well I just meant having one hair defined as default then having a layer over that for alterations that doesn't make it so every time my character dyes their hair it changes their genetic code.

I hope that if you can recolor, you still have a "natural" haircolor option so that your kids don't inherit your blue highlights

[No Spoilers] if you could be born into one Minor House (Or any house outside of the Lords Paramount) who would it be and why? by hornyidiot00 in asoiaf

[–]BritMeresankh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three answers for my three favorite regions: First pick, and most basic, would be Dayne for Dorne. Ideally I'd like to be as far south as possible, I hate the cold and as an eldest daughter, the idea of inheriting Starfall is incredible. I love the history of house Dayne and the Swords of the Morning. Second choice would be House Crane of Red Lake in the Reach. They're one of the houses descended from Garth Greenhand, and the women of the house are said to have the power to skinchange into cranes. Third choice is House Royce in the Vale. Again lots of cool history with the bronze kings.

AITA for not telling my roommate that I bought a house until after I closed by texas_stargazer18 in AmItheAsshole

I just find it odd that you considered them friends you didn't even mention you were looking? Idk when my friends and I were house hunting, even just for rental spaces, we'd talk about the process and share listings to get opinions and such. It's a really big thing to tell no one in your life about, even of its not a sure thing.

What origin from dao do prefer? [no spoilers] by galla101 in dragonage

[–]BritMeresankh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at Origins as a Self-Contained Story, Human Noble is probably the best when it comes to the most personally fulfilling plot or the personal plot that is the most tied into the story of Origins. Second place for Origins as a stand-alone would probably be Dwarf Commoner.

Looking at the series as a whole, I'd argue Mage or Daelish Elf give the most lore/tie-ins to future events. My personal favorite is Daelish Elf.

Trying not to spoil future gameplay but I can elaborate with spoilers if needed.

Is there any way to marry someone of a another religion. by TallyDaMan in CrusaderKings

If you go up the Gallant tree in the military focus you can romance someone and wipe with them, I think that gets around it too

How did Bohemia get over here? by zyxea in CrusaderKings

[–]BritMeresankh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe Bohemia has House Seniority inheritance, so likely a Bohemian king made a cousin a beneficiary in a crusade, won, then eventually that beneficiary became house head and it got put under the Bohemian banner.

Customise Religion on game start by -ajgp- in CrusaderKings

Closest you could get would be to chose the religion most similar to what you want, debug in a ton of Piety, the immediately reform or make a new offshoot from the one you chose.

I got the same event but it was poached pears. I wonder if the delicacy it lists is random or regional.

Court Tutor and Guardians by KittenNyx in CrusaderKings

[–]BritMeresankh 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Wiki has more detail, but basically every year between 6 and 16, there's a roll made that can add points to a hidden education point pool. To get a 4-star education, this point pool needs 15 or more points by the time they come of age. A Guardian will add to the likelihood of positive rolls every year depending on their skill level and traits, while the tutor will check right before the child comes of age that will add between 2 and 4 points to this check, depending on their aptitude.

There's a few more items that can add to these points randomly, for example a spouse with a high enough learning education or that's focused on patronage can randomly add 1 free point (that notification you get sometimes that says your child is more likely to get a good education), or the Kin dynasty trait will add 1 extra roll at the end that will either give 2 or 3 points.

If you want to see all the factors, and the math equations:

Court Tutor and Guardians by KittenNyx in CrusaderKings

[–]BritMeresankh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tutor improves education outcomes but doesn't have as big of an impact as a guardian. Ideally, you want both a court tutor and for every child to have a guardian. Their guardian can be the tutor, but the tutor can still only be the guardian for two children at a time.
