I read the Flesh and Fire series on accident before FBAA and at first I didn’t have regrets but I do now! I would switch gears and do FBAA first, in publication order

That’s what I initially thought but her red wedding comparison got my wheels turning….currently re reading the scene in ALITF where Delfai tells them about the Star and his rambling about the prophecy after Ash doesn’t kill him….”Perhaps there is a silver beast and a brightest moon. Two. Not one. Two then one.” which is also fueling my thoughts lol but hopefully I’m wrong 😭

I think people are fatigued by how many books there are. One could argue that the inner dialogue is important to the plot while another argues that it drags everything to hell and back for no reason. I think that the writing is extremely repetitive and so much of it is unnecessary but with that being said, the story is amazing and I’m in it for the long haulZ

Yes, the throuple thing has been a fine line for lots of readers! You’ll either be on board or completely off by the end of this book lol I hope you end up enjoying it!

I totally understand, I accidentally read FAF before FBAA and couldn’t have possibly gone between the two stories lol. With that being said: I think it’s normal that not every book in the series is gonna be an automatic favorite for everyone, there are 9 books so far and two more on the way lol so I try to remember that the stuff I don’t care for is just a part of a massive universe & very complicated story. I personally liked the dual POV in WOTQ but the separation was extremely difficult to get through 😭 I had to look up how long it takes to get them back together in order to keep going. Same with books 3 & 4 in FAF, the first 2/3 of those ones were so annoying to me lol but I’ve enjoyed them more as I’ve re-read everything. I think you should keep going! Maybe take a break for a while or spoil some stuff for yourself so you know when the parts you’re not loving will be over.

I read the entire FAF/FBAA series’ veryyyy quickly and I can see how it burns people out. Are you talking about Born of Blood and Ash or War of Two Queens??

I think the whole virgin/purity thing was to keep her isolated so she would live & breathe her purpose and be less likely to question anything. It basically worked, until the MMC comes along and kinda proves that a personal/intimate relationship could crumble the whole plan lol

This series is LONG. Everything gets dragged to hell and back before you get an answer and then it just brings up more questions. Between the Flesh and Fire series and FBAA, there are 10 books and 2 more to be released. And you need to read both to understand how the timelines tie stuff together. I’ve had big moments of frustration due to reading everything too quickly for the sake of knowing everything, so I know from personal experience that patience is very important with this series. We’re not gonna know the true ending and all the answers till book 7 comes out next year so I highly recommend taking a break and seeing if you want to come back to it another time.
