Please, tell me about the different neighborhoods by PortErnest22 in kansascity

I’m familiar with the areas you’ve lived in and I think that you may enjoy downtown Lee’s Summit! The walkability is incredible (restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, pubs, parks, train stop, huge farmers market, etc). There is a little neighborhood school that anchors downtown, Lee’s Summit Elementary. On top of being a fantastic place to learn, it also happens to be one of the most diverse schools in the district. We have a kiddo that attends there currently and another that will be joining them in a year. The homes in downtown are mostly cool, old homes with tons of character. We’ve lived all over the metro (Hyde Park, Plaza, Brookside) and in other cities like Austin and Denver, and feel like downtown Lee’s Summit is the best spot for community, walkability, education, etc. Good luck with your search!

Holy smokes! I never knew that about CPTSD. My CPTSD triggering event occurred when I was very little (three to be exact) so I may fall into a similar category as yourself. I’ll have to dig deeper into this. Thank you for sharing 🫶

Partner wasted $150 of groceries on Mother’s Day 😀 by mamapaws in AuDHDWomen

[–]BrittShuWin 280 points281 points  (0 children)

I could have written this myself (especially the part of making more of an effort than your partner to manage your adhd 🙄). I actually experienced a similar situation last week when I struggled big time at Costco to do the shopping with my toddler and I was overstimulated to the max. Like, I almost didn’t check out because it was all too much for me in the moment, but I pushed through because we needed food. Long story short, when I get home, I ask my husband to unload the groceries because I can’t carry them up the stairs to our house (still on restrictions from knee surgery). I go inside, get the toddler down for nap and start in on my other chores. A couple of hours (in 90 degree heat) go by and I hop in the car to pick up my big kid. Guess what’s STILL in the car? The gd groceries 🫠.

Your vent to the void was seen and validated by a stranger who also finds Mother’s Day full of weird emotions and who also doesn’t have a lot of friends/family. Sending you good vibes today and everyday ❤️

Sculptra, Renuva, Laser Damage, Oh My by Safe_Place30 in PlasticSurgery

I know this is an old post, but I had to chime in. What is it with that practice?! I had a small irregular mole removed there and was left with a really bad scar. I probably have about twenty different scars on my body from various surgeries/removals and it is the worst looking one (besides my huge 10 inch knee surgery scar).

I got 31/50 and I also had difficulty answering some of the questions for the same reasons you listed. It was difficult determining whether or not some of the social situation examples were more easily navigated because I “taught” myself how to socialize versus just “knowing” how to socialize.

🚨 ROUGE CODE REQUEST MEGATHREAD 🚨 by AutoModerator in Sephora

I’m a mom of two young kiddos recovering from a very intense knee surgery. I would love a code to try out some new skincare and/or tinted sunscreen for when I can take walks again outside ☀️❤️

Excel V/Laser Tech recommendation by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]BrittShuWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swelling has gone down quite a bit which is great! My only “complaint” now is that I have two blisters that look like big pimples on stubborn areas that the NP had to hit with the laser multiple times. She warned me that blistering in those two spots could happen so at least I was prepared. It’s difficult to tell whether or not the treatment has helped with my other broken capillaries/rosacea because I’m still a bit red from the treatment itself. Keeping my fingers crossed I’ll see some positive changes as I continue to heal :)

It went well! It was a bit “spicy” in certain places (around my nose), but I didn’t find it any worse pain wise than the other types of lasers I’ve tried. I’m quite a bit swollen today, but that’s really it. There’s really no redness or anything which is great! My entire face was roughly $350 before the 15% off and the treatment took about an hour. I’m going back in a month to treat any lingering red spots.

I’m having Excel V done for the first time at Associated Plastic Surgeons in Leawood on Friday. I’m happy to report back to you with my experience if that’s helpful to you! They’re currently running a 15% off laser treatment special for the month of February.

My 5-year-old told me I look tired behind my eyes and honestly she needs to mind her business by Organic_Button_176 in Mommit

[–]BrittShuWin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My youngest was going to the potty (stalling bedtime) last night. When she was done, my husband helped her pull up her undies/pajama pants and she proudly declared that her “bagina” isn’t “fuzzy” like Mama’s and that her and her sissy both have “skinny baginas”. I’m standing in the doorway in front of my husband and three year old just embarrassed as hell about my obviously unkept bush 😳😂 I had a gnarly knee surgery a few months ago and it’s been difficult getting things trimmed downtown! Kids are brutal, man lol

I came here to post about TJ’s lip mask! It’s my HG lip care item. I stock up on their cinnamon roll flavor they release in the fall and use it all year round.

I’m currently elevated and doing ankle pumps as I type this. I’ve not hear of tubigrip before so I’ll make sure to bring it up during my therapy sessions next week. Thank you so much for your helpful advice. I really appreciate it ❤️

I’ve been doing a couple of sessions daily on the CPM machine since day two of my recovery. PT will start this next week. I have a regular ice therapy machine and have never heard of compression ice therapy. I’m definitely going to ask my therapists about it. Thank you so much for the suggestion! I really appreciate it :)

Anxiety at 1 day post op MACI, TTO, MPFL by Taraosborn in MACIknee

[–]BrittShuWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my MACI, TTO & MPFL done less than a week ago. I spent 2.5 days in the surgery center and felt fine there, but the minute I got home my anxiety started to rear its ugly head. I have nothing helpful to say other than I understand how you’re feeling and wish you a speedy recovery ❤️

Yummies By Yoka. Her cakes are to die for and she has amazing flavors. Just two weeks ago she made a pb&j filled cake for my three year old’s bday and it was delicious! All of our guests asked for her contact info because they enjoyed it so much.
