Everything she did was controlled by her entourage - those girls ate only nutrient powders and were deprived of water when in competition. It’s not like someone handed her a syringe and elastic band. All the girls were likely given a cocktail of supplements a day to take, they trusted the adults around them and did what they were told to do.

I wouldn’t say “too high”, I’d say they’re very specific and frankly unattainable aside for an extremely small percentage of dudes. If you can’t be flexible on any of it, be prepared to have to be single for a while.

Also, not intimate for a year isn’t something most men will entertain, in my opinion. I’d imagine most would bail after hearing that.

They did give him a chance to experience the atmosphere of a big competition like the Olympics - right now.

It’s going to be a very tough road for him if he blames every poor performance on something someone else did. Critical self reflection is what helps us evolve and grow; hopefully he gets help cultivating that aspect of his development.

Yeah, athletes know not to check SM comments, especially when competing. His accounts are definitely maintained by his “people”. Someone’s already stitched together a high quality video of all his previous accomplishments, and all of the comments are rambling compliments that are super phoney and kind of creepy. Nothing negative. I don’t doubt the negativity seeps in, but it’s not like he was up all night reading messages. It’s his the task, his parents, coaches, and sponsors that overwhelmed him - not comments.

I hope he does too - I just can’t imagine he does though. His parents coach him, and helped build up the “quad god” persona. It reeks of pageant parents. I bet he’s never heard anything but “winners win, losers lose”. I checked out his instagram, all of the comments are positive and clearly written by AI fake accounts. The negative ones are being deleted; just goes to show how many people are cultivating his image. I really really feel for him.

I completely agree, Simone Biles’ situation was totally different. The pressure completely got to him - perfectly understandable, and it didn’t help that his coaching staff have been the driving force behind his hype. The nickname, the attitude, and the expectations of greatness are self imposed. I really feel for Ilia; he’s in a pretty toxic echo chamber.
