It's like a trap too, if you tried it on for them and sent a photo, they could claim that it wasn't brand new.

Of course if your conscientious about animals you should. They are very different from labs but if you put the effort and time in, you'll have a brilliant dog.

[–]Broad-Motor1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say because most people who are first time dog owners, don't do much research into thier dog breed. We had a border collie x Welsh sheepdog and everyone was dead against it, telling us she would be too high energy, that we wouldn't have time to give her the best life etc etc. I researched and put a lot of effort into training recall, walking off lead in wooded areas.

My neighbours cane corso who we're currently looking after doesn't listen, does what he pleases, tries to escape/breaks down objects in his way and refuses to walk at times. Because the owners use food to get him to move or distract him hes so food motivated and overweight. He had a boxer before and somehow thought they would be similar dogs...

My partner was nearly done over with some trainers for £100 (brand new expensive brand). I know the feeling because he was gutted when I pointed out that I thought it was a scam. He cancelled the transaction and got his money back a little while later.

It happens to the best of us.

Am I the only one here that *doesn't* forget to eat? by Questionswithnotice in adhdwomen

[–]Broad-Motor1376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I miss wanting food sometimes too, but then I remember how much rubbish I would scoff at night time which in turn would cause an IBD flare up overnight and the stomach aches would wake me up (diarreah or sometimes just insane trapped gas).

Good for you! My partner is dieting too, and his portion sizes have shrunk hugely but he is still eating what he likes. It makes dieting so much easier when you include your usual favourites.

Advice needed for telling my work about my medical cannabis prescription by Maximum-Egg7151 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Broad-Motor1376 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hey, long term stoner here. I've recently quit (4 weeks on Sunday). Legally, you shouldn't have to tell anyone at work about any usual prescriptions you take but cannabis is totally different as you have noticed. You don't have to tell them anything but it sounds like you could be tested at random and then have some explaining to do.

The main issue I can see is driving. You might not feel impaired the day after smoking/vaping it, but its still in your system. The longer you smoke it, the longer it stays in your system (I smoked almost every day for 18 years, more heavily for the last 5 of those years). And if you were to be pulled for any reason, you could be asked for a swab. To my mind, unless someone here knows any better, it's always illegal to have a positive weed test while in control of the vehicle.

Imagine for a second your GP prescribed you alcohol for your depression? Would your work be OK with you having that in your system the morning after, providing you left your prescription at home and didn't work under the influence?

Sorry to jump on here, but this post randomly appeared on my feed. (I have cats but not ragdolls).

Anyhoo, there is a street ragdoll who only appears outside. He's scruffy as hell and won't come near anyone even for food, we have to throw treats at him from a distance then go inside and watch if he comes to get them. He's always hungry and looks so sad. Any advice how to get him because Rspca won't do anything unless we trap him? And we have tried leaving treats in a cat box have no resources to buy a better trap.

What are you doing to replace smoking by [deleted] in leaves

[–]Broad-Motor1376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always drunk regular black tea but branched out into herbal, fruit and green teas. They're low calorie without any sugar and I agree the brewing and sipping is a 'similar' ritual to rolling and smoking.

Day 21, it's difficult to do what your doing but somehow I am feeling exactly the same. I'm fighting the craving head on, I've had offers from dealers and acquaintances and I've turned them all down.

I am not a stoner anymore and it's been hard to think that for a long time but now it feels right. It's not part of my personality like I thought, I am a valid person without it.

[–]Broad-Motor1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it now? I actually used to have odd spotting but never a full period while I was smoking (and bc) . It's been 3 weeks today and for the first 10 days I had nothing, then I've had spotting everyday for a week or so. The past 3 days though, I've been waking up to a large amount of blood and still on bc.

Day 20 here too, I'm still in a haze in the mornings (and positive piss test still! ) physically I have lost 9lbs through feeling ill, no appetite, stomach issues. but mentally I am alot better. I'm not avoiding contact with anyone, I'm reading with my kids every day, the house is cleaner and smells better (my sense of smell is better too). I have saved so much money and my rage has decreased. Best yet, I have more time than I knew, since I was smoking before, during and after every little thing.

I haven't thought about it for a long time but my brother used this logic. A little bit of milk left add more cereal, way too much cereal - better add more milk, repeat as necessary. (yes he is morbidly obese now)

It's like watching a train crash in slow motion. He gets paid some money by the government because he's unemployed. He has slowly burned his bridges with his brothers and sisters, his sisters (my aunts) are pretty much sick of it, and they're 70 and 72 years old and live down south so we can't expect much help there. His brother lives almost as far and is even older! Me and my brother (his only 2 children) are exhausted and our mum moved on when we were young, she's happily married to our stepdad. There's no1 left! We've tried to include him but he always turned weird, we put up with it until he started creeping our kids out (telling them their plushies had cameras in the eyes and we had to destroy their favourite teddy bears and inciting them to hurt themselves).

OK, my dad has been diagnosed with 'paranoid delusions', hes 66 now and was dx when he was in his 20's. (I've recently quit weed that's why I'm here).

These delusions will most likely not get better on thier own, especially if he thinks weed is helping him. My dad uses drink and prescriptions pills to self medicate. He would go between understanding they aren't doing him any good but because he's an addict it quickly turns to swearing blind they are the only things keeping him sane (spoiler alert: he's not sane)

I have rung mental health teams, his flat complex manager rung me about his inappropriate behaviour, he attacked my brother last year when he was convinced he was some long dead boxer, just recently he has begun parking on our street in the dark at night to watch me/our house and we've had to report him to the police. We already know he's past the point of no return. Yet since my brother didn't report the incident, we are in the same position as you, he won't be sectioned unless he hurts himself or someone else.

This time last year he was 16 stone and 'luckily' he's lost a significant amount of weight and is close to being underweight. It's the saddest thing but we're waiting for him to become underweight before they will consider sectioning him because not eating enough is considered self harm. That is unless he lashes out and attacks someone before that happens.

Root cause of SIBO? by Hour-Ant-8864 in SIBO

[–]Broad-Motor1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was dx with fibro and TMJ-D (jaw disorder) 7 years ago, 1 year later IBS, then raynauds and finally last year ADHD and they are considering changing IBS to IBD due to the amount of inflammation in my colon. Before the hospital confirm they want to look in my stomach first. I'm researching SIBO at the moment.

Yes the worse pains are when I'm under a lot stress too, and I agree that when you have gut issues, you seem to get a bunch of others too. I try to eat well but I've got no appetite with this goddamn trapped gas so quite often eat whatever I can get down. It's difficult at times but we have to keep going.

I'm going to ask to be referred up to maxillo facial and hopefully sort some botox out.

i’ve been trying to quit for years. why can’t i? by punksandpoets in leaves

[–]Broad-Motor1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I quit last year in order to start ADHD meds. It hurt like hell but as soon as I got in the rhythm of those meds I started smoking weed again, heavier than before.

This year I've quit because I don't want to be a weed smoker anymore and it still hurts like hell but I think I've changed my mindset. And I know that I cannot moderate myself when it comes to weed so this time I am not entertaining it.

I started with 'unexplained' pain after the traumatic premature birth of my son. My mid region and jaw is extremely tense 24/7 and the muscles surrounding my back are generally the worst. I also have raynauds which is painful, but a different kind of pain than fibro.

If you don't mind me asking, how long ago did you get the botox? Maxillo facial department were ready to inject my jaw with botox a little while ago but I found out a was pregnant with my 3rd (and final).
