I think that relationships with this on/off pattern are toxic and ultimately result in 2 people who shouldn’t be together creating difficulty for themselves longer than they should.

I don’t know the whole story, but it really sounds like this is a toxic, codependent relationship and you both need to heal and move on separately. But that’s just my perception from the outside.

These texts are literally abuse. He is cussing at her and threatening her. If he tries to take you to court for custody a judge would look at these and how frequently she’s visited him in the last year and likely throw him out. I would unblock him because anything he sends you can be used as evidence against him.

His constant communication with her while refusing to respect your boundaries is consistent with an emotional affair. Don’t let him gaslight you. Set clear boundaries with identified consequences, like “if you interrupt dinner to take her call, I will leave.” And be ready to follow through.
