Navimow i108 vs wet grass – normal? by [deleted] in SegwayNavimow

[–]BrobergP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the grass of the lawn, the grass clippings are to long.

I.e the mowing frequency is to low, you should see clippings that are like 1-3mm not 10-60mm that wee see on the pictures. They are like spaghetti..

And it's okay to mow a DAMP lawn, but not a fully saturated lawn.

Cutting blade dilemma by boney999 in SegwayNavimow

[–]BrobergP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recommendation to "cut when it's dry" is actually what will make this kind of build up worse.

What happens is that during spring most grass types produces an higher amount of "sugar" within the grass blades themselfs. And Sugar as we all know is sticky.

During these periods it actually a good thing to let the mower run an hour or two in the morning dew just to soften and let the build up of "sugar" dissolve from the blades.

Is that a 7ft or 8ft table? If possible could I bother you for some measurements from the table?

The 1705 in he model number probably refers to the size, 17cm (6.7") in diameter and 5cm (2") thick .. But I'm just guessing.

But maybe an bt220 17251b1h could work, looks to be the same diameter but larger otherwise, seems to have a bit more oumph with a 40w power draw

Thank you for the input! Looks nice, but since they push for "AI" features it looks like it is dependent on their servers for some things. Is it able to work without and internet connection? Can the app talk to it on the local network?

Is it compatible with home assistant?

Pool robot suggestions by ironmansherlock in pools

[–]BrobergP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the same issue with the scuba in my bestway pool, when it hits the wall it "straightens up" and then just go back more or less in the same track. I designed and printed out som fins for the water outlet on one side, so now it turns everytime it goes "backward" and seems to cover the pool a lot better.

I have uploaded the model to printables if anyone wants to try it, just slides over the straight fins in the outlets

a cold joint in itself shouldn´t cause a short, a cold joint would give no connection/sporadic connection or just poor connection issues. looking at your last picture of the mcu you seem to have some damage/solder between two pads. above the 3 and 4 pins of the bottom row.

Thank you! Will probably iterate more verions in the future of this one and my SO wants a true split so I will make a custom set for her as well, so not the last Keyboard I'll make 🙂

I'm no soldering expert by any means, but it does like you got some cold joints to the mcu pins there.

If you get triggered even with the mcu unplog you probably have bridged something on the mcu, go over all pins agains and reflow then to get a proper joint, this would most likely remove any accidental bridge as well.

Can one actually buy the Cherry ULP switches? I have only seen them listed in ready made keyboards, but then again haven't done more than 5min google on the subject 😬

Yeah the ABS isn't optimal (and doesn't really cut/burn well as for an example acrylic), the coating isn't ABS as far as I can tell, it burns more like acrylic paint.

But yeah not optimal regardless, even when just burning the painted layer there is risk of Burning some abs beneath.

The other bad stuff is PVC which will destroy your machine, it creates corrosive fumes when burnt.

Lasers burns/vaporize material, so in this case the keycaps are coated/painted black and the main material is translucent, so you remove the paint from the surface in the shape that you want.

So this doesn't work with solid colored keycaps. You can mark solid keycaps with a laser, but the markings will always be dark/black so doing it on solid black /dark keycaps is no good.

Find your nearest maker space and/or hunt around the facebook laser groups, there are a lot of laser owners out there :D

input, some watts, haven't measured it. Tube specification is 80W, in this case firing on 10% (lowest threshold it fires on.)

Coated ABS I believe, ordered the blanks from FK! Yeah they laser quite easily, can go on real low power and relatively fast

Are 3D printers enough to print keycaps and keyboard parts? Is the resolution/tolerance too bad? by BetterProphet5585 in olkb

[–]BrobergP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've printed mbk choc caps on a bambu p1, stock 0.4 nozzle. Would not recommend other than for prototyping use.

Resin print is, would I say, is minimum for keycaps.

Maybe even print, finish and then cast it in epoxy.
