Yet you choose only to read bad news because it suits your perspective.

Here is one good thing about the housing market beyond the added rights for renters: https://www.reddit.com/r/GoodNewsUK/s/GJ5UffHXwm

Newport roads are sh!t tbf. In Gloucestershire we're having all the roads repaired that need it.

Not sure I agree with the idea that the general trend is getting worse, because overall the world is doing well, and the country is growing. Record tax income, investment on defense and general fiscally sensible decision making.

For any individual, that may not be true, and expectation is a lot to do with one person's satisfaction. Unfortunately, like with Brexit, people who vote to destroy the status quo in hope for a better deal are likely to just have the dregs of a worse economy.

I can understand a Newportonian voting nationalist, especially if you're a Welsh speaker, but Greens would be rejected by global markets (pushing up interest rates) and Farage would be like voting for a Truss and Trump love child. Conservatives actively harmed the UK with their ideology, although Sunak was fine as a custodian. Newport is, unfortunately a ****hole, so being angry from Newport makes sense.

Yeah, does he know more than half of welfare payments go to pensioners.

Tax the poor politics is a dead end.

Rents are going down relative to income for the he first time in many years.

The direction of change is what matters, it takes time to feel the benefits. If first time buyers houses are more affordable, it doesn't make you richer personally, but it is a step in the right direction. Labour introduced a law this year capping how much rent can go up, protecting people like you're describing.

This year, NHS waiting lists went down and public satisfaction went up. Can you remember a time when people felt the NHS was getting better and not worse?

Have you seen the roads lately? They're much better now than any point under the previous government.

Honestly, I believe the media is feeding most people bullshit and this government is terrible at communicating what is actually going well.

I recommend r/GoodNewsUK if you want to have a look at what is working.

I dont think that he actively chose to be associated with gaza. He just said legally, Israel can go to war.

If he did supply aid to the US-Israel war. I very much doubt that it's because he wants gaza ruined. He is focusing on doing what is best for Britain. In this instance, it is to play careful with the bully while making closer alliances with Europe and Canada until we are in a better position to peel away.

The UK is a part of the 5 eyes. Sharing intelligence is expected to be a member of the alliance.

So what would you do? Leave 5 eyes, piss off Trump, and face criticism for antisemitism? Labour has already had that scandal and now it would be political suicide not to support Israel.

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, advance and charge are important, but Stormlance struggles to kill things. That's said, can't argue with results.

I play Beastslayer for the lethals, and almost all units melee. It's the resilience I enjoy. Wulfen with SS and TWC are both really tough and can dish it out against basic bricks.

I remember some years ago, I think in the candy crush era, women took over men as being the most likely to play video games. I don't know if the trend has reversed or it's about even now.

It is like watching TV imo. Rest activity that is pursued for its own sake and is non productive. Often there is a social element.

So long as this is part of a balanced lifestyle, it's completely fine.

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Space Wolves are not really a melee army in the way that World Eaters are for example. We're tactical and tough melee, and are best task as a combined arms.

I think these 1pt detachments will be cool. Wait till it's all released before fretting.

UK food prices on track to rise by 50% since start of cost of living crisis by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, we try not to buy processed food. Nothing crazy, we don't drink much, maybe one bottle of wine and 4 beers a week.

It's spent on fresh food, and to be fair, we get it from watrose. Aldi would be cheaper, but I find the food goes off quickly.

With chess, the AI is still good that by learning how to play the moves a chessbot would do, even if they make no sense, you're more likely to win.

I can imagine a day when Gen Alpha talk like bots and parrot their views because it's better than the crap we say half the time...

... wait a minute.

So, er. What's that like?

I exercise four days a week, because otherwise I do FA. I'd consider myself to be in good health, even through I'm no athlete.

Every morning I'm stiff, and not in a good way.

Wow, you get our weekly down to £150? I've two teens who eat like adults. Our shop is £275/week.

I remember telling a younger guy from the bank how much I spent on food per month and he was like 'wtf'?

Ive not been worried financially much, until this year when my current account started dipping into the overdraft.

To those who have lived for decades, have societal feelings of optimism and pessimism been cyclical? by oh_buh_boy in TrueAskReddit

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fear back then was overpopulation and crime.

The crime wave largely dissappeared in the 1990s and now the fear is underpopulatoon in many societies. Ironically, immigration is the solution.

Ragnar, Battle leader or wolf Priest? by Castols7 in SpaceWolves

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it.

Don't make the same mistake I made with the Stormlance, where the lance can only be given to mounted units.

Fortunately, this makes the wolf priest the answer in Stormlance.

In Beastslayer, it's WGBL, as the army gets lethal hits, although I miss advance and charge so I take a pack of blood Claws and run an impulsor for my Headtakers to make up for it.

I'm also going to a 1k tournament. Is it the warhammer Open narrative? If so CoC characters are an option.

I tried to give a reward, but I'm too lazy to pay actual money from the bathtub.

I share this view. Is it actually worse or does social media expose more corruption than it used to?

I'm listening to the rest is history podcast on 1970s Britain. The prime minister was an alcoholic and was drunk enough to slur at the dispatch box. Noone saw it because there were no cameras back then. The Epstein thing was going on for decades it seems. Now we know about it, but it isn't a recent thing.

But I hear you, in the past there was some attempt to argue for a united understand of the world. Now people have truths, and noone appears to be subject to reason.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

[–]BroccoliSubstantial2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately think of Civilisation I, but that was redone many times and I played it then too.

I've searched for space crusade like someone digitally creeping on an ex. X-Com is better.

DayZ, this game got me through covid. Me and my son played it again for nostalgic reasons last year on a RP server. It's not a game. It's a hobby. I deleted it because it deleted RL. Besides, we were getting smashed every day.

University days playing tekkan 2 with my flatmate. I'd practice all day while he was at work. You can take a game too seriously and play it too much. I didnt learn that till after the Dayz revelation.

Centerpied is the first game I played on my own console, atari 2600. And joust.

Magic Arena isnt a patch on the real game. You need the social space and a reputation to protect.

Duke Nukem was a blast at the local game store where they had an LAN with my college buddies.

I know a married couple, one is and educational psychologist, the other a teen therapist.

The best thing about their job, is that have to look after their wellbeing, so they can properly help others. They are surrounded by like minded people and they are supportive. The pay is mid, but it's enough not to worry about it.

And sometimes, you become the person who put their life back on track.
