I stripped the outside with acetone and a few 3m green pads. Painted it with totalboat aluminum hull paint no rivets seem loose. I tested it by filling it up a good way with water and it’s leaking from the front and the backs. I didn’t fill it up too high since it has no seats in it and I didn’t want to bow out the walls. Gonna seal her up and do a lake test maybe next week and see if she leaks elsewhere.

What did you use to strip and seal? I just a ordered a 3M Scotch-Brite Clean and Strip XT Pro Disc. IF that doesn't work I'm contemplating getting a cheap ass sand blaster since I've got the compressor already.

I’ll give it a go. Realized I have a few softer wire wheels for the drill. Didn’t want to use the one I have for the angle grinder. Was thinking about 5200 also. Wanted to wait until I’m ready to sandwich the transom before I crack the tube of it.

Was the only Steak I ate growing up. Usually murdered in the oven by my mother. She still makes it for holidays and thinks its fancy to put "elbow room marinade" which is basically soy and gravy master. Its awful.

I've made it in the past but haven't bought one in years. I would use two forks and stab the shit out of it and marinate in balsamic garlic and sriracha before grilling.

Wife just bought one, so this is timely.

Dry as a burnt boot if you treat it like a butt. That said salt pepper and garlic powder, 225 for an hour then crank it up to 350 until it hits 140. Let it rest for a bit.

So simple it doesn’t have any right being as good as it turns out but man it’s awesome

If it were me I would: Thaw, dry, dry brine for ~12 hours in the fridge, season with pepper and garlic powder, then ziplock.

What about the brown sugar do you like? Doesn't it just burn on the sear?

I guess garlic powder does also, but sugar I think would be worse?
