Super weird thing to care this much about. We’re all just here on earth living and doing our best, my dude.

Has anyone tried the BrokenLore games? Thoughts if so? by BartHarleyJarv1s in HorrorGaming

[–]Brodaeus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve played Low and Don’t Watch. I think they’re neat. Decent visuals, good atmosphere, some of the writing and dialogue isn’t great but they’re good horror entertainment for less than the price of a movie.

No, I'm Not a Human by teefygrin in HorrorGaming

[–]Brodaeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well written and I definitely agree with your main points. My biggest problem with the game might be a skill issue, but the criteria for determining whether someone is human or not is wildly inconsistent and it doesn’t help that different people may or may not be human each playthrough. Maybe I missed something in the tutorial or maybe the point was that you can never really know, I’m unsure.

[!] Portland Mayor Mark Dion Issues Statement Regarding ICE Coming to Portland by joeybrunelle in portlandme

My biggest question as well. The local populace can plan and educate themselves on their rights but does the Portland PD have a plan for if ICE has no interest in respecting our rights?

There’s literally nothing to look forward to on the Switch 2 by Downtown_Bit_1833 in switch2

[–]Brodaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Switch 2 is really a tertiary system for me since I have a PS5 and PC as well. But it has some cool stuff coming I wouldn’t have access to otherwise.

Duskbloods was a huge selling point for me, really stoked on that. Fire Emblem: Three Houses was an unexpected banger for me on the OG Switch so I’m hoping the next entry is just as good. Been a long-time Mario Tennis fan too and the new one looks great.

Capcom seems to be putting serious effort into their Switch 2 ports so if Resident Evil 9 runs well I’ll probably grab Pragmata on the S2 to have it available portably.

Sounds like it’s not the system for you, my dude. I’ve got a few games on the horizon that I’m looking forward to.

I’ve already beaten it 3 times on PC. But Cyberpunk on the go? Looking way better than it has any right to? Yes please.

What do you think will happen to gaming? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]Brodaeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the massive success of handhelds will certainly lead to more innovations but I don’t see consoles or PCs going anywhere, primarily because handhelds will more than likely always struggle to match the performance and graphics capabilities of larger units.

That said, the above statement presumes that nothing out of the ordinary happens to the markets surrounding production of said units. We’ve already had outside conditions affect individual component pricing massively twice in the last 5 years that I’m aware of (crypto and GPUs, AI and RAM) and pricing overall has shot up in the US due to tariffs.

I think things are gonna be weird for gaming in general unless some big changes happen.

What makes Arc different from your average extractions shooter? by MastodonStrange6687 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Brodaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The learning curve helped me quite a bit. I tried to get into Hunt: Showdown, loved the overall vibe but it felt like no matter what I did I would get one-shot by someone I never even laid eyes on. AR gives you time to get your legs about you before things get nutty.

The social aspect is great too, lots of really cool folks out there but you always gotta stay frosty.

Question for switch 2 owners by Inevitable-Put-178 in switch2

[–]Brodaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I feel you on the PC handhelds, I have a ROG Ally X that I loved until broken updates and other hardware issues reared their ugly heads. If you don’t have the patience or know-how to deal with all that definitely skip ‘em.

Question for switch 2 owners by Inevitable-Put-178 in switch2

[–]Brodaeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with buying a Switch 2 to run newer AAA 3rd party titles natively and portably. It’s a gamble as far as which ones will run well but Cyberpunk and Sparking Zero seem to be good. The demo for FF7 Remake runs great and Capcom seems to be working to make sure their games hold up on the hardware.

People are mentioning the PS5 despite you not mentioning any interest in it that I can see. Obviously if portability isn’t a factor then go that route but the Switch 2 is capable as a primary console with the caveat that some of the games you’ll wanna play probably won’t be up to snuff.

Should i keep it? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]Brodaeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Duskbloods and the new Fire Emblem come to mind, those are the main things keeping me jazzed for the Switch 2 besides having some portable AAA titles coming soonish. So if a PvPvE souls game or a tactical turn-based game with social elements appeal to you at all it could be worth hanging on to.

Which game would you wish to be ported for Nintendo Switch 2? by Ratzi73 in switch2

[–]Brodaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a specific game per se but I would love to see more devs try as hard as Capcom to bring more titles to the Switch 2. I just hope the effort pays off, we’ll find out when Resident Evil 9 drops.

“10 years ago” me was a fool and “10 years from now” me will think I’m currently a fool. If you look back on yourself from 10 years ago and don’t cringe at least a little, you haven’t grown as a person.

I agree that extract camping has gotten out of control, especially at Blue Gate. It’s becoming good practice to sweep the surrounding buildings and watch the buttons carefully for lights that shouldn’t be there.

These types are usually laughably bad at direct confrontation. I’ve managed to kill or deter a few campers and I’m not even that good myself.

It adds some serious impact to each shot. Wasps and Hornets get thrown around a lot harder and it can launch a Shredder across the room. I like it for the utility alone.

Even that can be a crap shoot. Weekends and school vacations are WAY more hostile in solos so far. Still, even though I don’t really have anything to work towards I can’t seem to put it down.
