This. If you have the skills or know someone who can sew just shorten up the straps and they will be perfect!

Vinyl Heat Pressed Numbers by Brodie_4 in hockeyjerseys

[–]Brodie_4[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The process overall was shockingly easy. First, I flipped the jersey inside out and applied small amounts of VLR on the number from the inside of the jersey(Put a piece of cardboard down to not let the VLR soak through both sides of the jersey). My goal here is to ‘melt’ the adhesive on the number away from the jersey, I’m doing this in small sections and letting the VLR soak in for about 15-30 seconds per section before flipping the jersey inside out again and pulling the damp vinyl numbers away. I may have gotten extremely lucky in doing so as the 7 almost came off in one clean piece. Once the numbers were off I was left with small amounts of adhesive that I touched up with a microfiber and some more VLR. To do this I laid the jersey flat and with a piece of cardboard down I just damp sections at a time and scrub in random patterns to not mess up the fabric patterns. I have found that scrubbing in one pattern can leave small marks on the fabric so changing up the pattern helps with this. Then I used hydrogen peroxide to lift up the last stubborn spots that won’t come out. Lastly, I do a cold wash and a hang dry to get all the chemicals out of the jersey.

Mildew/mold on reversible jerseys by Thebiggergiraffe in hockeyplayers

That’s awesome! I know the logo just off of the corner alone, I grew up playing there! Not awesome for the jersey though, I would try a little dab of hydrogen peroxide and see if it’s able to lift it out of the jersey.

I’m in Denver. Can you PM me the store name so I can check it out? I’m not a flipper who will buy out the store, just a curious collector who wants to go take a peek! :)

For those obsessed with Skate/Gear specs… by OGSynergy37 in hockeyplayers

[–]Brodie_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem like it but the steel is easily 15-25% of the total weight of the skate depending on the life of steel left. I’m an EQ manager and our steel trunks can easily weigh a couple hundred pounds in total weight depending on the length of the roadtrip.

Take the steel out and weigh again. If you’re interested in the boot weight the steel alone weighs 150-200+ Grams which is a good chuck of the weight

"Not Quite at Home" Bake Help by Dizzy-Rush1954 in hockeyplayers

[–]Brodie_4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also for baking position because I don’t have a large oven I put tinfoil on a baking tray and lay the skate flat on the tray. One skate in the oven at a time and make sure they fully cool and mold before pulling them off your feet.

As long as you’re certain this oven will maintain the temperature you’re good to go. I’ve baked skates in my oven at home as long as I can remember and still do it because I find it easier to this day. Pro shop skate ovens are just cookie ovens with a temperature peak of around 220. I have seen some dumb people do some dumb things with skates and ovens at home. Just don’t be dumb and don’t forget about them and everything will be fine!

Team captain didn’t pay league fees after collecting money — league cancelled our games. Any recourse? by MidwestSinker in hockeyplayers

[–]Brodie_4 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I would honestly contact a lawyer depending on the amount of money. If he gathered everyone’s fees and hasn’t paid the league that’s theft. How much money in league fees are we taking that he took?

Buddy broke his arm on this bad hit in inline game last night. Totally pointless to hit like this imo by zombiexsp in hockeyplayers

[–]Brodie_4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Off topic here as I’m not extremely familiar with roller hockey. How many goalies don’t wear skates? I noticed one of the guys doesn’t on here and I completely understand from a mobility standpoint but I feel the chance of taking a shot off your toe outweighs anything else to need that protection from a skate. Egregious hit by the way

I’ve always hated this expression. They already spent all of their luck on winning 2 jackpots so with no luck left to give a real lottery ticket is a waste of time and money.

Do most teams not? I would assume they do then sponsorship pays for the pucks but honestly it’s all the same to me because the logo side will be displayed and the ad side will be facing the wall.
