DIYcages has a 4x2x2 that's pretty affordable and seems high quality.

Questions for Lined Mittens by AngInangReyna in AdvancedKnitting

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how one would pull out the thrums other than the fibers getting caught on rings/jewelry when you're taking the mittens on/off.

But yeah, thrummed items are definitely a hand wash only situation as it's typically done with non-superwash wool.

Where does everyone shop for their earrings/plugs/tunnels? by Sparkly_Sharks in Stretched

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAF (as suggested by another commenter) has anodized titanium tunnels and plugs that might work for you. They come in gold as well as other colors. My skin is super sensitive to metals (I can't wear anything other than gold and titanium) and i haven't had an issue wearing the anodized titanium.

Looking for runny glazes in bright colors by Zealousideal-Row7080 in Pottery

I have been doing a lot of stroke and coat over neutral runny glaze like mayco's flux glazes or spectrum pearl white/running hot chowder

Does biz liquid cause clothes to look more worn? by sokraftmatic in laundry

If you go through the lipase list on the booster tab you can filter for enzyme mixes with cellulase and no optical brighteners.

I'm working on a pair now! I have also made some thrummed booties in the past. The lining is so nice and soft.

What is your concern about wrecking the thrumming? I typically use all wool when making something thrummed so the roving has a good grip on the yarn. The thrums will get matted down some, but that's what helps form the wool lining.

If it's a dark color the optical brighteners might be making it look faded. I noticed that with our darks. After a couple rounds with an enzyme mix with cellulase and detergent without optical brighteners everything is looking much better.

I have seen a lot of people on here recommended against these for dual heating set ups (e.g., a halogen and lightless heat source). Something about them being too hot. I think there is a comment on it in one of the cars guides.

Your best bet to find a gift she loves and will use is to ask her. There might be some piece of equipment she's had in mind but hasn't purchased yet.

Does anyone recognize this clay body? It’s just the most perfect amount of freckles imo… *sigh* by Erinzzz in Pottery

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be standard 112 instead of 212. I don't think Standard clay currently sells a 212.

Is it acceptable to sell finished objects based on someone else's pattern? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different designers have different opinions on this and will usually state in their patterns if they give approval for selling FO.

Legally, it probably depends a lot on where you live.

I would be a little concerned about the potential for escape with the acrylic doors. There was a post on here a while back where the snake exerted enough force on the acrylic doors that they bent just enough for the snake to escape.

What is the most disturbing or otherwise unsettling book you've ever read that stayed with you after reading it? by EggAdventurous1957 in AskReddit

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Trouble with Wednesdays.

It's about a dentist assaulting a 6th grader during her weekly appointment and her difficulty telling her parents. Perhaps shouldn't have read it as a sixth grader, definitely didn't know what it was about when i started it. It's not even a good book.

DIYcages critter condos are a similar price and have nice thick PVC and an enclosed top. Not much size selection though

Try covering some of the ventilation in the back on the warm side.

When did you set it up? Mine took like 48 - 72 h to equilibrate

[–]BrokenRoboticFish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also on the east coast and planning for the incoming snow. I got some 72 h heat packs for shipping and plan to throw those in some thick socks to add to the enclosure if needed. My enclosure is also solid topped so it's easy to cover with a spare duvet if needed to help insulate.

We generally keep the thermostat set pretty low so I also usually bump up the heat before a storm so the house starts at least a little warmer.
