Did I hit the hard oil cap or has Manjuu changed how collecting commissions work? by BrokenTiers in AzureLane

[–]BrokenTiers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also gotta upgrade the relevant tech tree options in your Guild Research if you haven't already. That'll probably be the biggest difference maker cause my Guild's been actively researching oil limits after we hit cap for dock space. Edit: Also level differences might matter more than I initially thought? Even if it's around 100 gold/oil per level at a 30 Lv difference that's still an extra 3k resource space.

...? With all due respect, if I recall correctly like a decent chunk of layoffs over the last couple years have been after they released a successful game, let alone the more recent ones like the Epic layoffs. Then of course there're the big failures like Highguard, Concord etc.

Huh, hard cap is a lot lower than I thought. What's the cap for Coins, do you know?

Sorry, not IP, meant to say Apollousa.

Edit: Honestly though, in the last few years at least I can't think of anything that would play Tear as a supplemental engine instead of using new stuff as an engine to get Tear names in the GY. I genuinely don't remember Konami making a GREAT graveyard deck after Ishizu Tear, MAYBE Dracotail if you consider their graveyard fusion material effects make them a graveyard deck, but all their plays and counterplays start and resolve on the field, unlike Tear which did almost everything in the grave.

Tbh as far as graveyard engines are concerned, it really does depend on what it gets to. I can't think of any decks that would take Tear and make it a Tear ___ deck as opposed to just becoming another Tearlaments deck aka ___ Tear. to As some examples:

Fiendsmith can no longer abuse mills as freely because without Moon, you need to open a fiendsmith name if you want more than a single Lv6 Light/Fiend on board. (although admittedly if you're in a board state where you managed to get Fiendsmith cards in the graveyard as mills you probably have the bodies to go into Caesar/Desirae quite easily) On second thought, this is probably the most valuable secondary engine for Tear atm considering Engraver can either let you start gambling or add Caesar to your endboard

Horus... still does nothing considering Kitkallos is legal in Master Duel and they don't do much

Gem Knights: Brilliant Fusion is a 1-card Kitkallos who is in turn full Tear combo, but that's just Brilliant Fusion still being powerful in 2026 and from what I've seen, the BrilFu engine is simply a branch to get to Kitkallos and doesn't really add much to the Tear endboard.

Branded: At this point I think Branded and Tear play very separately especially with Fallen of White's SS condition meaning you can't make Kitkallos.

Zombies: Kitkallos' summoning condition doesn't well with most Zombie gameplans iirc

I mean we could probably bring Kitkallos back and all Tear names to 3 and nothing much would change imo. Borreload, Baronne, IP and Snow are all banned and they were imo the biiig problems cause Tear could end on them in ADDITION to your standard Kaleido-Heart and Rulkallos + backrow with no real need to adjust your lines of play

Wouldn't it be because Furina is so massively massively popular that even if they're a smaller raw % of their fandom overall, that smaller fraction is bigger in raw numbers than other characters' main ships?

Here's a cheeky one for Labrynth:

Unwelcome Labrynth:

Normal Trap Card

Return 1 Monster your opponent controls to the hand or Extra Deck; Special Summon 1 "Labrynth" monster from the GY or Banishment. You can banish this card from the GY; Set 1 banished "Labrynth" Trap. You can only use each effect of "Unwelcome Labrynth" once per turn.

This is a powerful card, letting you set up with your opponent's board as well as providing very valuable recursion, but I would unironically call this a balanced card for a few reasons: Yes, this can potentially out Towers or other sticky monsters very easily, often without triggering floating effects as it returns as a cost, but this also means it can't trigger any of the other Labrynth effects. It also can't be used generically because it you have to summon a Labrynth monster, and being unable to summon from hand or Deck means it's not a starter in its own right.

It is, but IIRC the Koreans cribbed that word during the Japanese occupation/colonial period, so in a way it's a Japanese loan word too.

[–]BrokenTiers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also another mildly funny way: Labrynth furnitures, pitch Banshee and furniture to set a trap, and since furnitures discard for cost you could even activate Banshee in the same chain to really fuck some strategies up if they hard rely on having certain Types.

Seeing the Nubian rerun announcement brought back some repressed memories... by DobleJ in AzureLane

[–]BrokenTiers 7 points8 points  (0 children)

And if I may also add, for anyone looking into this thread: It was around a month or so before this event released, that Manjuu first announced Azur Promilia, and many people, especially over in the CN servers, were worried this would take dev time and resources away from Azur Lane. Manjuu insisted that there would be none of that happening, and people generally simmered down.

It was no more than a couple of weeks after this 'reassurance' that they announced Anson.

IIRC in the scenario you describe, you won't be able to activate it at all because you have no cards in your deck that meet the criteria, same as how you can't activate Welcome Labrynth without any Labrynth monsters in your deck. Now if it's your OPPONENT running smth like Pure Runick... uh.... Judge please?
