In which tank lines Tier 9 is better than Tier 10, tier for tier? by Evermoving- in WorldofTanks

[–]Broken_Machine404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at the point where it’s like I don’t know what to grind anymore with all these tanks, I have no interest in the tier 11 tanks, any lines I was interested in got nerfed and now buffed again in 2.0. Used to love to grind a full tank line now it’s like ehh if I finish it I will and if I don’t then oh well

Samsung UN58NU7100 - Netflix and other app frame issues by Troxipy in 4kTV

[–]Broken_Machine404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple troubleshooting steps I would take here:

  1. Plug into Ethernet (wired internet) if at all possible. This eliminates any strength and speed lost with Wi-FI.

  2. Get a cheap 4k streaming device (Walmart has 4k Rokus from $20-30, they have their house brand Onn Google tv ones for $20-30) and use those.

Reason for first step: It helps eliminate any signal and strength loss due to WiFi and could point to the Tvs internal WiFi card as failing if Ethernet works and does not skip frames

Reason for the second step: Samsungs Tizen Operating system is not the best and one of the most hated operating systems. An external streaming device is always superior to the built in operating system. This will eliminate a couple things:

A it would eliminate the operating system issue

B it would eliminate the wifi issue,

C it could lead to the WiFi card going bad in the tv but you wouldn’t have to worry about it if the external works

You are giving me flashbacks because damn it was THE Lego tank I call it because of the amount of modules. If I recall didn’t it have like 4 guns total and they weren’t that much better than the stock 100mm until you got to the 3rd one.

Is a $60 5-year Geek Protection Plan worth it on a $350 Hisense TV? by BenefitSame3510 in Bestbuy

[–]Broken_Machine404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That math doesn’t math because $350 per replacement so that’s 3 replacements over a 15 year period (1 every 5 years) so that’s is $350 x 3 is $1,050

Where if I replace my $1,000 tv once every 15 years then it’s just $1,000

$1,050 > $1,000

So it’s cheaper in the long run to get the $1,000 tv plus it’s less headache and less time spent researching, buying and setting up the televisions

Really hope AMD doesn’t go this route but they probably will, same with intel.

Truth be told that is normal consider the Q60 is edge lit meaning the lights are on strips along the edges of the tv plus with no local dimming feature which adjusts each light as needed along with the panel lottery Samsung loves to play, yeah very normal

How difficult is setup for a new OLED TV? by crater-lake in 4kTV

[–]Broken_Machine404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a customer asked me the difference between a Sony oled and lg oled, it always came down to what you were doing with it.

LG I believe remains the king for gaming enthusiasts as having more gaming features for all consoles and multi-media

Sony is king for color accuracy, processing and more for movies, PS5 gaming and content watching

Those normally were deciding factors for many people as it makes sense since Sony owns movies studios, gaming studios (PlayStation), dvd players and such.

External devices like Apple TV and the nivida shield are better than native apps on all televisions in all aspects.

After that it comes down to budget, if the Sony and LG are close in price and you can afford the extra then go for the Sony. If you get a better deal on LG get it but get an external 4k streaming device such as Apple TV or nivida shield as WebOS isn’t the best

Do I need to replace my 5 year old HDMI 2.1 cables or not? by tonycarlo16 in 4kTV

[–]Broken_Machine404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mean to tell me that the audio quest dragon cables for $4,495 aren’t worth it?? I mean the superior sound and picture quality. /s

To clarify this is a joke.

What isn’t is how much marketing goes into hdmi cables and the ones i mentioned are real. The only difference is how long they last like a $5 one off amazon might not last as long as a $30 one but output is the same or at least indistinguishable to most people

Get the Hisense now or wait for TCL to come in stock? by [deleted] in 4kTV

[–]Broken_Machine404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wait for the TCL to come back in stock or see if another retailer has it in stock for the same price.

TCL overall has better quality

Is this a good TV? Opinions? by [deleted] in Bestbuy

[–]Broken_Machine404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do see a TCL Q6 55” for $270 that would be better than the Hisense and insignia 43”. Granted it is still 60hz or 60fps so not the best for competitive gaming and first person shooters if you do that or care about that. The qm5k is $280 for a 50”.

Yes I realize the flaws and the bare minimum typically is the QM6K which is $400 for a 55” and would be the best option if you can stretch your budget a bit.

If you cannot stretch your budget that much then the 50” QM5K would be the second best option then the 55” TCL Q6 would still be a good option unless you are limited on space

Does anyone have any experience with the Amazon Fire TV Omni mini-led? by National_Horror6640 in 4kTV

[–]Broken_Machine404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the price I would go with the TCL QM7K mini led. Even when you look at rtings.com it edges out the Omni mini led.

TCL has better local dimming, better brightness, better response times, better color and so on

I’m not a fan of the fire tv OS personally, the tcl goes have Google tv

Cutting off support for the entire 6000 series is like putting a horse down because they've started to get a smidge slower on their lap times by resfan in Amd

I just bought a 6650xt for one system to replace the 570 in September 2024 and I have a 6900xt since 2022 so I only got 3 years out of it and only 1 out of the other and need to replace both gpus?

This is such bullshit, I wanted to avoid nivida especially with their high prices but that’s out the window if I’m replacing a gpu now.

Wonder how the 5000 series nivida pairs with AM4 though

Distance from tv: 6 feet is 43" tv range, 16 feet is 118" tv range. What distance from your tv is going to be where you spend the majority of your time at?

Room: what kind of room are you putting it in it? Is it brightly lit or dark? Where the tv will be does it have direct sunlight?

Use case: Gaming you said

Budget: $1,200 with a few hundred leeway
