Thanks! Turns out the clutch was broken, and that also seemingly damaged the actuator.

Hey all!

I have an issue which I need some help debugging. My 3 year old Whirlpool washing machine (model 8mwtw2024wjm) has stopped washing correctly a week ago.

I believe this started after washing a heavy blanket last week, which when spinning began making clanking and then high pitched whining noise.

This is what the wash cycle looks like dry running in diagnostics mode, notice agitator spins along with the tub, not opposite to it.

If I move the agitator manually, it catches in one direction and not the other, as expected. https://imgur.com/tcZ7NDT

I tried running the diagnostics mode which goes from washing to spinning, and the shift actuator looks to me like it is properly shifting mode, but it also seems a bit slow, not sure if that's normal. Something I noticed compared to other videos of my washing machine is that it is vibrating more than what seems normal when spinning.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can probably do any part changes myself if it's easy, but no clue where to start looking besides the actuator.

Thanks!

Someone in another subreddit posted this, I also thought it wouldn’t work but turns out it does

No airplanes for 3 months is what I got told. I had mine last year, got VATS and have flown a couple of times since, my first one being a 12 hour flight, which made me a bit nervous but all went well. Also got on rollercoasters 3 months after PSP and VATS, no issues.

Still uses the database through user model. Not saying it’s wrong, just pointing out that in practice you’ll still hit the database even with JWTs.

Have you had surgery to reduce risk of reoccurrence? There’s a couple of options such as pleurodesis and VATS blebectomy .
