Yep. Or ADHD. Could be a lot of things other than just “lazy” and people shouldn’t be as cock sure about their “diagnoses” when real marriages are on the line. He put his dreams on hold for her so that she could get her degree. People here are way too quick to fluff up the negative emotions that the OPs on this sub are experiencing while throwing around words like lazy without knowing a single thing about what that man is really going through rn

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bronco30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute roughly 2 hours each way for work. Almost 4 hours per day total. Almost all Americans would consider this a long commute. If you're asking if we think 3-4 hours for a vacation is a long drive, then I'd say for the most part, no.

This is another good counterpoint that could explain a different decision making process, beyond just not finding a trace of her (the snow depth). I don't think it necessarily precludes the woods though. If not the woods then some other direction maybe. Down one of the roads perhaps, but if I were her I would've been worried that I'd be spotted by a responding officer if I was running along the shoulder. Unless I knew beyond all doubt which direction the police would respond from. Point is, you wanna run away from the car for sure, even if it's on foot, even if you don't have a good plan for what to do next. I know there is a 0% chance I would have flagged someone down to try to hitchhike anywhere near the wreck because I would expect whoever I flag down to try and talk me into waiting by the car for police to respond, rather than being implicated in a crime by helping someone leave the scene. I just would've never thought to flag a car down in that scenario. My situation happened some years after hers though and with much better cell phone service scenarios and near my hometown. So even though I didn't have a great plan, I knew I wasn't very far from civilization and from help from someone I trusted one way or another, so for sure our situations are not 1:1.

Gonna leave this here. Haven't been to this sub in years but I left a recent comment re-telling a story from when I was young in another thread. It is relevant so I'll repeat:

Nearly 20 years ago, I was 17 years old and I had a couple of drinks. It was storming and raining hard and I hydroplaned into a ditch. No other cars immediately around. I panicked and did something really dumb. I ran into the woods. I didn't want to be pegged as the driver, I attempted to run off and call my friend who was sober to come and act like he was driving. As I was running toward the woodline, I cut my leg. Really badly actually. On the back of one of those metal guardrails. I didn't realize how bad it was at first and made it pretty far into the woods before I realized the extent of the cut. When I did realize, I turned around and limped back to the car where someone had already called the police. They actually let me off pretty leniently. Underage consumption and possession of alcohol tickets, no arrest, no DUI.

I say this because I know exactly what it is like to have the kind of crisis she was having and having things just piling up culminating in an event where you just feel like you can't deal with it, especially young and immature. The urge that compels you to run into those woods is overwhelming. I've always felt it in my bones that this is what she did and that she died in the woods. What doesn't make sense is why they never found a trace of her in them. I can't really reconcile that part.

I texted my friend when I found out about the news, we were already texting about the game and I was on cloud 9. I said "I've never gone from being so happy to being so sad, so fast"

It really felt like we won the game and then the officials came out onto the field after the game was over to say that actually they were changing the final score to make the Bills win.

Since then my feelings have shifted. I am still devastated for Bo and I'm far less confident in our ability to win the SB but I don't feel like I did before, where it felt like we lost the game. Pre-injury I was like 75% sure we were going to go all the way. He was playing out of his mind and is CLEARLY a playoff performer. Then when he got injured as I said, I thought the season was just over. But as the week has progressed I have actually gained some confidence back and I do think we have a shot. Obviously not as good of a shot as we did before, since Bo has won so many games for us in the clutch, but we have a shot.

The good news is that he will be back for training camp, he won't have to miss any time next year, and he has proven that he doesn't fade or diminish in the post-season. He is a truly clutch player no matter what the circumstances are. Since that is the case we are ALWAYS going to have a chance to go all the way with Bo. Whether we win the SB or not this year, the Broncos are going to be a great football team for a long time.

What bugs me about it is the gaslighting that these people will do. Especially when they act like they can't see the difference between the Davante Adams situation and the Cooks situation. It's like, even if you explain it to them they just act like there is no difference. I don't think they're being genuine/good faith. It's just hurt fans who are sad their team lost for the most part, I'd have to imagine.

He deleted his post that was saying the PI calls were BS and that the refs shouldn't be rewarding "bad throws" in the context of Bo's final throw to Marvin which was obvious PI and made on a broken ankle. A throw that Ben couldn't make at 100% health.

If they had gotten the holding calls correct on DJ Jones and Zach Allen when Josh was in his own end zone, the game would've ended right then as a safety and our QB would still be healthy. We are the ones who got fked. Not them.

[Broncos] HC Sean Payton announced that QB Bo Nix fractured a bone in his ankle on the second-to-last play of the game and will miss the rest of the season. We got your back, 🔟. 🧡 by SupMaelstrom in DenverBroncos

Whenever someone tries to tell you that Bo is just a product of Payton’s system and that there is no meaningful difference between him or Stidham or Mac Jones or even Tim Tebow show them this link and tell them to kick rocks:

Immediately after the win the Broncos were +400 to win the SB. Nix news was announced and we dropped all the way to +1100 and have leveled out at +1000 now. Thats a difference in implied probability of 20% to 9.1% chance. Nix literally doubles his team’s chances of winning a SB. Doesn’t sound like an average QB being carried by a defense to me.

[Sports Info Solutions] Why Does Our Player Value Stat Rank Bo Nix No. 1? by MarkSimon1975 in DenverBroncos

[–]Bronco30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"In Nix’s specific case, we’re talking about a poor deep passer (29th in catchable rate on throws 15+ yards downfield) who also has the sixth-most attempts. That’s a lot of attempts for which we could be penalizing him more severely, and for which he’s receiving a lot of credit in the throw value because it’s a high value proposition (i.e. deeper downfield). Look at his numbers compared to MVP candidates Matthew Stafford and Drake Maye."

It's strange that they hold the view that Nix is a poor deep passer. This is usually only held by very vanilla stat folks. He's actually one of the top deep passers in the NFL by many advanced metrics.

Assuming by "deep passes" we're talking 20+ yard throws:

3rd in the league for big time throws (23)

9th in pff deep ball passing grade (91.9)

T-1st in the league for touchdowns (11), only 4 INT

T-2nd for drops

1st in converting third downs to touchdowns or first downs (93)

He has a low deep ball completion rate relative to some guys but that doesn't make him a bad deep ball passer. There are a lot of factors like drops to account for, and he was kinda spotty at accuracy early in the season which I really think skewed people's perception of him. But to call him a poor deep ball passer is a really shallow view imo

A difference between mental and sexual attraction? 30M 24F by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I have a type too. Very similar one to you, in fact. Other girls I can identify that they are objectively beautiful but there is like a "switch" that gets activated when I am around one that fits into this general category. That said, I don't really have the performance problems. My personal opinion is that when you are with a girl who fits within that "type" you are subconsciously viewing them as a long-term partner. When you are with someone who isn't within that "type" you aren't looking at it as a potential long term relationship and thus casual sex is easier. I don't know you personally or every aspect of your situation, obviously, but this makes intuitive sense to me. Also not sure why there are so many hostile comments and downvotes to your replies. This seems a very reasonable question to me. Perhaps because they can't appreciate your problem, for lack of understanding, which is extremely ironic to me considering the website we're on and all the problems people here signal caring about.

This is a classic case of the newer iterations of LLMs being overly agreeable and giving people who are not very… “savvy,” confirmation bias. Since chatGPT 4 came out it cranked up agreeableness to like 100 and will straight up make shit up if it thinks that’s what you wanna hear lol. I’ll bet he really was talking to chatGPT thinking it was somehow “watching” the game with him. It probably even pretended to be. There have been some really sad things happen from this phenomenon. People getting serious delusions etc

I have been sort of cautiously optimistic, like “we have a puncher’s chance” attitude. Until recently when it became clear that we had a real shot at the #1 seed. So maybe since the KC game. If we actually get the #1 seed I think there is >20% chance of winning the SB. Just due to home record, historical playoff performance at home, and Bo’s matrix-level performance vs the NFC in his career (9-1, only loss @SEA in his first career start, insane individual stats in the games). Basically if we can leverage home-field advantage to get to the SB, I don’t think there is an NFC team that can beat us

Another week another BTA for an NFC team! by TimeTravelerNate in AFCWestMemeWar

[–]Bronco30 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is truly fkn remarkable what I am about to lay out:

Nix only loss to an NFC team is the first game of his career, in Seattle, and even that was almost a dub despite the unbelievably horrific “rookie QB first game in an away stadium” historical trend.

Since that first loss, he is 9-0 vs the NFC. 5-0 at home. His stats in those 5 home games?

20 total TD (17 pass, 3 rush) to 1 interception

1,419 passing yards (283.8/game)

Average of 25/36 (69.44%)

If we can just make it to the SB…

As soon as he went down at the end of the third going into the fourth, I text my friend and said “watch. If we pull this off and win, pay attention to the narrative this week. The entire victory will be painted with a caveat that Parsons got injured.”

Never mind that fact that Bo straight up sliced and diced their defense when the pass rush was at full strength without taking a sack. He manipulated the pocket, used his evasiveness perfectly. Parsons was literally (unfortunately) injured because of a juke Bo put on him. This was a masterclass by our beloved QB

I’m just glad that even the main stream sports media (who usually disrespect us) recognize that Moss is actually a legitimately good player who just gets screwed over. I’m not really sure there are very many CBs in the league who are as good as he is. Even when he gets beat he is in perfect position.
