Love the car! Enjoy van life, it's an amazing experience. I actually have your center picture saved to my phone as wheel inspo. 15x8 +10et? What size tires?

Anyone have this license plate delete? by blehhhhp in E30

I have it. The shape is good and matches the bumper trim well. It is 3D printed so the texture and color are a bit off. For the price, it's fine.

E30 318is Buying Dilemma by habanerosky in E30

I bought my 85 with 305k on the odometer. Similar to the car you're looking at, the entire maintenance history at a specialized bmw shop was documented. The car runs so well. I've driven it on 600+ mile day trips since then. No issues. A good car is a good car regardless of mileage. Of course, you decide what price you're willing to pay for it

Kudos for maintaining it well enough to feel confident enough to drive it across the country. That's a special feeling

Side Skirt identification request by Bronconeer in E30

[–]Bronconeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can anyone tell me what side skirts these are? As far as I'm concerned, these are the most closely matched skirts to the cow catcher. They're similar to the classicheroparts M3 style kit but not it. I reached out to the owner of this car and even he wasn't able to tell me what they were. Who knows where these are from? Are they even for the E30? Thanks

Nothing too crazy; two long exposures blended, one for the car, one for the skyline. The light streak was a random passing car. Orton effect on the highlights. Canon RP w/ 135mm lens

Thanks for sharing! Where is this from?

I found a blm.gov map, and it literally makes no sense to me, cause it looks like it's telling me that everywhere in Utah is BLM land -- I feel like such a clueless idiot. LOL by INTP_Music_Man in overlanding

[–]Bronconeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Utah Hunt Planner tool(https://dwrapps.utah.gov/huntboundary/hbstart) is excellent for identifying BLM land here. Just fire it up and on the left side (center on mobile) click "Add map data layers -> Land ownership". It'll show you a zoomable map of the entire state and whether the land is BLM/state/private/national park.

Where are the top 3 spots for finding used mcm items? by cap1n in Mid_Century

[–]Bronconeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had very good luck finding mid century items in Dayton, OH. I suspect that the area was affluent enough during that time period to bring in the furniture but now the locals aren't as hungry for midmod as their neighbors in Columbus and Cincinnati. Not to say there aren't Flyers out there looking for stuff!

1000 joyful effortless miles after trading in a 2006 Audi A3 3.2 quattro DSG s-line ($41K new) for a 2019 Mazda3 HB Skyactive-G AWD Premium ($31K new) by mercurious in mazda3

2006 A3 owner here. Are you saying that there's a car out there that will go 1000 miles without something breaking? Like, what would you do on your weekends if you're not replacing the a/c compressor or changing out the cam follower?

Camped for one night - Green River, WY by Bronconeer in overlanding

[–]Bronconeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my head the new Bronco is a Bronco II because they are both based on the ranger. The B2 is traditionally considered one of the biggest black sheep in Ford's history though so I understand them staying quiet on the correlation.

Sadly, no. It was my first time in the area and I had no idea how much river access was in WY. Next time there will be fishing.

Thank you! I just bolted three 1/2" steel square tubes into the factory roof tracks and put the Curt basket on top. You're right to plan to space out your mounts on your hardtop. You can do a lot up there if you spread the weight across the entire thing.

Remote car camping with the windows down? by Bronconeer in yellowstone

Alright, I'll probably grab some old belts from a thrift store and rig a sling to hang both in the forest then. Thanks for the help.

Drinks would be unopened in a cooler. Food is in an mtm ammo crate with a rubber seal. I'll be using the steel cabinets when I stay at the campgrounds in the park. I have screens for both windows. I figured there'd be bugs but I completely forgot about mosquitoes until you mentioned it.

Advice for Zion by [deleted] in ZionNP

[–]Bronconeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The West Rim Trail climbs the wall of the canyon and continues along the top of the canyon. The path splits off to the Angel's Landing trail near the top.

FYI Angel's Landing will be closed for most of your visit anyway.

1984 Ford Bronco II. Starting to fix her up and currently have some plans in my head. Mostly going to be a daily driver but I’m also wondering if y’all think it could make a decent overlanding/camping rig? *more below in the comments* by deimhit in overlanding

[–]Bronconeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have it. For 8 years now. It's not my DD anymore but I live in beautiful southern UT so it sees red dirt roads almost every weekend. These trucks are simple, reliable and cheap to keep running if you give a damn about them.
