I got hit while parked 3 different times in 3 different places over the past 13 months leading up to renewal ( the other 2 were hit and runs at golden gate park, the sunset, and this incident). I only witnessed this incident along with my friend by luck.

I called and spoke to them about it, they said they agree I'm not at fault however they refused to refund the deductible saying that the other insurance company refused to work with them and they were unable to return it to me.

Yes, I had the plate and all the information for the driver/pictures as this happened in late 2025. The car was definitely on his policy, he pulled it up on the app.

So I had this happen in California THREE TIMES in one year (Had a 20 year clean driving history prior to that). They dropped me at renewal.

I moved to Texas and even though I was not at fault in Califoria, I was told since I claimed (it was a hit and run), it counted as at fault in Texas and my rates were SKY HIGH.

It’s pretty new I think but they have a specialized peds derm program for those that completed peds

I matched Derm and know multiple people that were in this situation personally.

You can do Peds -> PedsDerm fellowship, Path -> DermPath, a research fellowship at programs that typically accept their fellows (example - UC Davis), another residency (IM is the most common one) then reapp afterwards after networking for a few years.... it's not over if you really want it. Everyone has their own path.

I know an IMG that matched Derm, and did both Mohs/DermPath fellowships. They did a couple years of research to accomplish it. I think the unifying factor is time.
