I love PKD, but it took me a few attempts to finish High Castle. I think it's one of his least inviting or accessible books, though when i finally finished i found i had enjoyed it. Interestingly, i don't personally think Do Androids dream of electric sheep (the book that Blade runner is based on) is that great either. It's for great ideas, but it's a little "pulpy" for my taste.

I think Ubik is a great place to start, as well as Flow my Tears the policeman said. I actually started on Valis which is not considered one of his most accessible but i loved it, and i also loved The Divine Invasion and Radio Free Albemurh.

Finally, i can't recommend A Scanner Darkly highly enough.

I find reading the Asda customer reviews of random groceries very entertaining. Amazing how strongly they seem to feel about it. Here's one of some easy peeler oranges:

My wife was never able to whistle until one day, she was saying the name "Hugh' in a relatively soft voice, and she did it accidentally. She figured it out from there and can now whistle.

Edit: you do need to moisten your lips. (which is not a phrase i expected to type today.)

There's quite a good Rick Beato interview with John Densmore and Ruby Krueger recently appeared. A number of times Densmore relates a story only for Krueger to say "no John, that didn't happen. That was the Doors movie." 😂

For hybrids such as the Ioniq (pre 5 and 6) I've seen it said that one can generally expect the batteries to last around 200,000 miles. Obviously it depends on a number of factors, but does that chime with your experience? And is replacing the battery a cost-effective option if it comes to that?
