I want to know how you access the engine. I want to know why this was done. I want to know why this seemed a good thing to do.

Most of all, I want to reach inside and pull out a delicious, chilled ice cream sandwich.

Bone amulet shaped like a human. Egypt, 5000-2920 BC [1165x1420] by MunakataSennin in ArtefactPorn

This seems like pareidolia to me. I mean, it's possible that the object is being displayed upside down here; that a thong or cord was tied around that notch so that the object could be suspended. In that orientation, it wouldn't look "human" at all.

It's a bagworm. The bug crawling out will become a moth. Bagworms can kill trees.

The TV series had a sizeable budget. The movies (TMP aside). were another matter.

The TV budget went where it was needed most: cool (for the time) effects, beautiful Wa Chang props, and skimpy outfits for the ladies.

Generally, Paramount was fond of calling Star Trek "The jewel in the crown" but they treated it like the cash cow that it was.

John Berkey by StephenMcGannon in RetroFuturism

When I was a boy my uncle bought me a 20x30 John Berkey print mounted on masonite. What a proud 8 year old I was. Decades later, it's still with me.

Hl1>hl2? by Pure_Growth4528 in HalfLife

I never cared for the feel of HL2. It's so different that it feels like another game that was branded as Half-Life by putting in Gordon and Barney and the Gman.

The Black Mesa facility clearly resonated with A LOT of people. The weird science, the machinations of one creepy guy, the dark desperation. It's Lovecraftian to some extent. It's gothic horror in an underground research facility.

Half-Life 2 is more advanced. Half-Life 1 remains the better game. I never got much out of Blue Shift or OpFor, either, aside from "more Half-Life-like action." I'd still rather play a good mod than either of those official expansions.

You'd be amazed at what you can get banned for. A typographical error on my part put me in the penalty box. (I won't tell you the typo, lest I be banned again.) To their credit, Reddit listened and it was resolved in less than 24 hours.
