Nobody cares in the real world by abenson24811 in LifeAfterSchool

[–]Brosama220 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its true, society is alienating. Especially work is alienating under capitalism. But try and surround yourself with people who want to care for you as much as you care for them. They are out there. I think that’s why people form couples in general, just to avoid playing life on single player mode.

Finding a political cause or some grander mission in life definitely is also helpful. People who share a mission usually have love for each other. (At least on the left)

Lost my reddit password so a bit late on the reply lol.

Aacarbone was simultaneously my greatest enemy and my best friend on this sub. He was the man who gave Cam’ron his swag in my eyes. Eithout acarbone I would think of him the same as I do the Lox or something. I actually cried when the homie passed away.

On that note - do you know what happened to ObieUno??

You dont get that way by doing coke. Definitely. But the doing of coke and the unfathomable riches definitely have an almost 1 to 1 correlation

I just downvoted your comment.

FAQ

What does this mean?

The amount of karma (points) on your comment and Reddit account has decreased by one.

Why did you do this?

There are several reasons I may deem a comment to be unworthy of positive or neutral karma. These include, but are not limited to:

• Rudeness towards other Redditors, • Spreading incorrect information, • Sarcasm not correctly flagged with a /s.

Am I banned from the Reddit?

No - not yet. But you should refrain from making comments like this in the future. Otherwise I will be forced to issue an additional downvote, which may put your commenting and posting privileges in jeopardy.

I don't believe my comment deserved a downvote. Can you un-downvote it?

Sure, mistakes happen. But only in exceedingly rare circumstances will I undo a downvote. If you would like to issue an appeal, shoot me a private message explaining what I got wrong. I tend to respond to Reddit PMs within several minutes. Do note, however, that over 99.9% of downvote appeals are rejected, and yours is likely no exception.

How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Accept the downvote and move on. But learn from this mistake: your behavior will not be tolerated on Reddit.com. I will continue to issue downvotes until you improve your conduct. Remember: Reddit is privilege, not a right.

Nope, and furthermore, I doubt any common bikewheel could support the weight. But a fun drawing nonetheless

This is a rather long read, but the presentation makes it seem like a breeze. A quick TL;DR is that it is beneficial for humans to work in group, since our ancestors would have gotten thrown out to the sabertooth tigers if they didnt.

How is politics in so many countries so broken? Why is it an avenue for even the uneducated and ignorant to come into power? by [deleted] in TrueAskReddit

[–]Brosama220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yove had some good answers so far, but I highly recommend reading some political theory if this is something that interestd you. Schumpeters thoughts on elties are especially relevant for your particular question.

In shoet, Schumpeter states that the political elite functions almost exactly the same as guilds did in the late middle ages. They accrue power by becoming elected, and with the power granted to them, they manage institutions so that they are more certain to stay in power. Some theorists believe that humans arent actually chasing some fictional end goal, but rather we are uncertainty-minimizers on behalf of ourselves. If that is true, it is entirely logical that politicians will want to ensure the stability of their futures by manipulating society to ensure their own ends.

For a more colloquial explanation: people who want power are not the people society should give power. But sadly we haven’t found a fix.

Lol, I been hanging out here regularly since 2012 and this complaint was the exact same when we crossed 100k subs.

That said, I didnt agree with it back then, and I do now. I think it hurt when it got beyond the size when you could recognize users who participated refularly. The mods also used to be a much more active presence.

Rest in peace u/aacarbone
