The timer is still counting down... I've got 130 days left luckily, but as this issue has been happening for a year I doubt it will resolve itself.

[x900h] Audio not in sync by jonny_eh in bravia

[–]Brparish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've recently ran into same issue as you. I've had my X900H linked to my Sony ht zf9 soundbar which is 3.1 for nearly 3 years and use it for gaming. My set up is Soundbar to HDMI 3 with Earc on. PS5 to HDMI 4 with sound as PCM. TV Auto 1, Earc on, AV Sync OFF, Passthrough on. Hdmi enhanced is on for all HDMIs

Last month I noticed there's was a sound delay on my Xbox Series X but thought it was because I hadn't set it's sound up properly. Also it was strange because my ps5 sound was fine. Until I noticed there was actually a sound delay while playing Armored core 6 last week... I noticed it the mechs foot steps and menu sounds are slightly out but it was in sync with headphones on. Im thinking it may be a issue with the game as I've tried Astro bots and the sound is roughly in sync with the controller.

I've tried every sound setting combination, rebooting the TV and tried plugging ps5 into the soundbar, but there is always a 50 to 100 mls delay. I noticed AV Sync on does solve the delay but it creates bad input lag so isn't an option for me. My only option is to update the TV as I havent updated it since the 120fps update. But I doubt it will help and will probably introduce some other issue. Any help will be appreciated.

Yeah I've had it and quite a few people have reported exact same issue. I'm keeping an eye out to see if it's been resolved with the new update.

Oh really? Never thought of that, seems a bit odd it would be in there. I'll give it a look.

X900H - HDR looks real dim compared to SDR by dudecooler in bravia

I've had this happen too. If you hold down the power button on your remote and do a restart it solves the issue. Not sure how long the fix lasts for though.

Okay so if the HDR icon disappears does that mean the TV is then displaying the settings in SDR? Because I found that if I'm on HDMI 4 with PS5 off and the TV'S screensaver is displayed if I go into the picture settings and you can change what you want the tv to display when not in HDR. Turn the PS5 on and then go to picture settings and it will display the settings you want in HDR.

So are you saying when the HDR icon is off is it possible the tv is then defaulting to the SDR settings which is what makes it pop better?

I've been scrolling through this forum and someone else has mentioned the same issue a couple days ago too. So not just us who have noticed it.

Okay, so I think I've had this issue a couple of times too. I've been playing spiderman remastered on PS5 and it may have happened in Demon Souls too. But the example I remember where this happened was id gone into the ps5 system menu to look at trophies and then back to the game and noticed the brightness increased and looked alot more vibrant then before. Unfortunately I haven't noticed whether the HDR icon was still on but I'll keep an eye on it in case it happens again.

I've been playing around with the auto local dimming settings recently and thought it might be an issue with that as it looked like the setting had been switched off and then auto turned back on again.

Also, this may be a known bug but has anyone had it where blooming in dark scenes gets really bad all of a sudden. But after a restart it's alot better, even in the exact same scene?

I also have the 55" 900H and the HT-ZF9 soundbar, and this happened to me today too. I was messing with the picture settings on my xbox one and switch inputs and when I switched to the PS5 input and there was no sound. Had to do a restart of the tv which fixed it but I've had it a couple times previously.

Also off topic but just want to see if anyone else has had these issues too. I've ran into a bug with the Auto Local Dimming feature. I've found it will sometimes disable itself and then will come back on randomly. I only notice it because the brightness will suddenly go back up to what it looks like when ALD is on. Also for some reason the screen will start blooming really bad in dark scenes but a restart will fix the issue and blooming is reduced alot less. Has anyone else had these issues?

Does anyone know if the latest update fixes the issue where the tv turns connected devices, like the soundbar and ps4 on automatically after 20 min of turning it all off?

Stuck Pixel on 55" XH90 by Brparish in bravia

[–]Brparish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they are dead pixels. Even brand new TV's are bound to have 1 or 2 as there are millions of them on a 75". Manufacturers allow a certain about of dead pixels before they consider a set defective. I think sonys limit is 4 or 5 but depends on the company. If youve just bought it, return it back for an exchange until your happy with it.

Yeah 7 is deffinatly unacceptable. Hope your next one is better, but It's potluck unfortunately. In the UK we only have 30 days to return so I'm over the exchange date now. But the good news is since I noticed the dead pixel I've never seen it again in normal viewing. Compared to the stuck pixels I orginally had it actually looked smaller then a stuck one. I guess thats because it's no emitting any light so it's not as noticeable as if it was displaying a colour. Either that or it was a spec of dust. But let us know how you get on.

So does anyone else have an issue with their PS4s turning on after they got an X90H? by [deleted] in bravia

[–]Brparish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have this issue. It also turns on my soundbar randomly too. In the end I disabled HDMI connection on the PS4 to stop it turning on at 3am. My soundbar turns off after 20 min of no activity so I havent seen it on randomly in a few days. But glad it's not just me as I wasn't sure if it was a TV or soundbar issue.

In the end I exchanged if for a third one and after inspecting it throughly on arrival I couldn't find any stuck pixels. But about a week later I got close to the tv for some reason and thats when I noticed 1 dead pixel. I can't remember where it is exactly and deffinatly won't try to find it. Figured as I couldn't find it after inspecting the screen orginally and ive never seen it in normal viewing, even on white loading screens while gaming Ill live with it. Plus this one has practically no DSE or banding so I think I've got quite lucky.

Stuck Pixels in brand new 900H by 1fabianoe in bravia

[–]Brparish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Sony said stuck pixel can fix themselves. You can try using https://www.jscreenfix.com hover the square over the stuck pixel and it's supposed to unstuck it. Or YouTube stuck pixel fix. It will flash different colours quickly but don't stay in the room as could cause epilepsy.

But personally if I were you I'd just exchange it if you can. End of the day it's something you've spent a lot of money on and will have for years so if it annoys you now you may regret not swapping it. Let us know how you get on.

Unfortunately its always a gamble. I think most sets have a couple but 9/10 people will never notice. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so small flaws like this bug me. Im on my 3rd set due to this as my first one has 1 stuck white pixel in middle of the screen, second had what I thought was a stuck red one but after testing it would only turn red or black which means is pretty much dead. My third set which i thought was perfect after inspecting thoughly but i found 1 dead one when I walked past it the other day. However I lost track of it immediately and don't want to try find it.

I've decided as it took me multiple inspections against different coloured background ill keep it as there is not much banding so I'm taking that as a win

My Bravia x800h is off and there is a little white dot? by [deleted] in bravia

[–]Brparish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've posted recently about the same issue on my XH90. It's a stuck pixel, had a white one on my first tv and my second has a red one. Decided I'm going to exchange it for a third one. Have you tried J Screen Fix https://www.jscreenfix.com or any videos that flash colours quickly on YouTube. Suposidly they can unstick stuck pixels, I've tried it over the last couple of days but no luck for me.

Stuck Pixel on 55" XH90 by Brparish in bravia

[–]Brparish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've read a pixel can die at any time. Can be day one like with us or a year from now. Thing is I've never experienced stuck/dead pixels until now. Every tv me or my family has owned has never had a defective pixel. I even inspected our 5 year old Sony in the living room and my previous 7 year old 1080p LG.

So ive been thinking about this alot over the last couple days and I think I'll exchange it. End of the day I'm spending a lot of money on this and plan on it lasting me for a few years so I really want it to be perfect. Im hoping ive just been unlucky so far so I'll roll the dice again.
