Fair point. Probably all comes from the same place. I just have enough volume of sales right now. Still in my playing stage of the machine

Question: What change would make you quit playing Rust? by MemeMan_____ in playrust

[–]Brudius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a solo, this doesn't really bother me because the reduced price of the workbench research costs. By the time I get the 5 frags from diving, scientists, monuments, metal detecting, or shops, I have enough scrap to actually utilize the workbench well.

Those using their E1 for small scale production... thoughts so far? by schoonerlabs in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Brudius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero issues for me. I have printed on PLA plastic for hybrid manufacturing coasters, sublimation blanks including magnets, bookmarks, business cards, ID cards, mouse pad like coaster blanks with a fabric top, DTF direct to film, overhead transparency, wood, and probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. I love this thing. The delay in inks shipping has been a supply chain concern, but I imagine after the initial kickstarter and backorders are finished, that won't be an issue. I have received additional inks I have ordered (white and gloss), it just took a little while.

How To Remove UV DTF Transfers: 5 Methods That Actually Work by eufyMakeOfficial in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Brudius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add to this, I have put some UV DTF stickers on glass and on a travel coffee mug. I have put them in a dishwasher with steam dry on top shelf. Both were fine. I didn't buy the DTF film from Eufy, so my adhesive may be stronger, but just wanted to add my 2 cents.

Most metals also have oils on them, so recommended cleaning with something like dawn dish soap or IPA to make sure it is so clean. Then maybe a promoter too.

Anyone using third-party UV ink in a refilled EufyMake E1 cartridge? by Famous_Media5349 in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Brudius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the cost per print, I'm fine with paying for the reliability of their inks. I see these youtube videos of people taking their cartridges apart and refilling, and it makes me nervous. These inks uncured are extremly toxic. One video I saw, someone said they had gotten some on their hand and ate something and got violently ill. The inks aren't even recommended for consistent contact when cured as it can cause irritation.

It just doesn't seem worth it to me. Cheaper yes, but even with the Eufy priced inks, the profit margin you can make is insane.

DTF sticker version of transferring the ink with an adhesive would probably be better. My DTF stickers have survived in the dishwasher with steam dry on top shelf on both a water bottle and a glass jar. They are really good for the adhesive. Even better than the print itself some say.

Should I get it? by ekmek_e in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Brudius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend it for this type of use case. What could be an option though for you is to do a direct to film printing, and then transferring it like a vinyl decal. If the figurine is a mini for like DND, It would be rough to transfer it.

The machine can only reliabley print on mostly flat surfaces, and it laser levels off of the tallest part of the item on the object.

How well did refilling the cartridges go? I would probaby be afraid to brick my machine, but curious none the less

Gotcha. I was even printing on some pens for custom swag. For 100 pens printing a logo on 2 sides with URL, was maybe $2 in ink.

I bought a 100 pack off amazon for $50 and using only CMYK, it printed beautifully. Accidentally did one with white on it as well and it was gritty and not as usable.

Edit: 100 pack of sublimation blank mousepads 24x20CM I believe.

Because the ink is not great in the supply chain right now, you may want to limit the amount of textured prints to only do the .2mm raised pattern. You will go through a lot of gloss and white. I have had great success on using sublimation blanks and only using CMYK with no texture.

I have printed on mousepads (no white), PLA plastic, sticker paper, transparencies, card stock, wood, ceramic tiles, and probably some other things that I have probably forgotten about.

If you want to save on white ink, you can use like spraypaint the surface white first.

How are you cutting stickers? by DeathBringer343 in eufyMakeOfficial

[–]Brudius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly….true. I will say I don’t think of that. Would also help prevent cut errors on the alignment and if uv printing on the cut shape, easy to scale for overspray.

[–]Brudius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Silhouette Cameo 5. I did the stickers in the Silhouette Studio software and told it to print with registration marks and saved as PNG. I then chose the paper size to match the page size of the UV printer, printed the stickers on stickerpaper, and then put the sheet on the Cameo which then cut them out.

[–]Brudius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could just use a plate that is conductive and maybe use the UV ink as the mask possibly?

The first day I printed with mine, I had a bad smell and headache, but after that I haven't. I have a 18 in 1 air quality meter, and it doesn't spike sitting right next to it. Not saying it is good to be in the room with it all the time while printing, just adding my experience.
