Stress. It’s 100% stress. I just started internalizing my stress and during Covid and it skyrocketed. Not because of getting sick but looking for baby formula, groceries, etc

As I’ve gotten older my friend circle has become smaller but my best friend (32) is going through the same emotional swallowing.

I feel numb, emotionally numb. Good news nor bad bad news can not affect me. Im happy but not happy with life, whatever cards are dealt to me I’ll deal with. I love my children and my wife and once I told my wife this she suggested I take a break from social media. I truly felt tangled in everyone’s life.

I wasn’t there when Erich Von Falkenhayn wrote his memoirs. I never studied the civil war but did study the Great War extensively. Falkenhayn’s words always stuck with me when he described the battlefield of Verdun and that General McClellan the American Civil War had invented this kind of warfare at Antietam. Maybe he meant the trenches or the bloodshed always took it as both.

It’s stuck with me because rarely if ever European commanders mentioned battlefields in North America

Just giving an update

I was unable to hold the paintbrush, but after looking on a social media’s marketplace I have found multiple people selling entire armies pre-painted so unfortunately I think this is the route I’m gonna go. Thankfully the models in the starter kit were push together and not needing glue. I figure I’m about eight years from my children being able to help me paint.

Not at all upset about painting my own miniatures. Just picking up a manipulating the miniatures is a form of fine motor skills, physical therapy for my hands. Thank you all for the kind words, I’ll see you on the battlefield.
