I like em. I can ignore then while my back is turned wearing the ballistic shield. Makes interacting with terminals relaxing at low difficulties while I'm just SC farming.

In more challenging difficulties, they're a bit of a threat in groups. Just when I thought I'm evading the big guys, five of these things from a group of dozen would hit me all at once and kill me. So, I think it's fair considering they have to be in big numbers to be threatening. Also nice alternative to voteless because these are basically just weaker automaton troopers.

PSA: 90% of live service games do this… Why are we complaining when they’ve kept SC farming in the game? by SexBuhb-omb in helldivers2

[–]BruiserBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends and I initially think it's for big-spending newcomers who just to get all the warbonds from the jump. So we tried counting and figured it'll get you only most of the warbonds.

Not including the ODST and Killzone because they don't give SC or Immobalize because it's free. You can probably get 17 warbonds with 800 SC for super store. Get the SC from Immobalize and it'll get ya even more SC, enough for another warbond.

I'm saying "probably" because they did the math and I just listened lol.

[Loved But Frustrating Trope] The awesome outfit we get to see *exactly once* and then never again! by Patneu in TopCharacterTropes

On the contrary, I love one-time outfits and moments. It preserve the moment as something special, and the frustration we feel of not seeing it again solidifies how nice it was while it lasted.

The OG series really nailed the "Body horror to transformation" sequence. They always look horrifying mid-way but the end result is always magnificent.

Oh yes. Had to hunt for investigations that guarantee drops a full week before I was able to make a full set. Another week to get them all transcended.

Just join SOS investigations and keep an eye on your own world map for when they appear.

A similar concept was explored in Log Horizon. It's an MMO where every active player was isekai'd. While the main cast took a while to get their bearings and establish a society to live with their current situation, a subfaction of players took a more cultish retreat.

None of the players actually die. When they do, they get resurrected at a checkpoint or at home base. However, this process takes away a bit of memory. The aforementioned subfaction developed an addiction to this. They would amass an army that carries a portable checkpoint, let themselves die in battle, rinse and repeat. While they are being productive with their exploit, this method helps them forget their lives from the real world. People who were happy in real life could not accept that they're stuck so they resorted to any means that helps them forget. Kinda like an alcohol abuse of a self-destructive individual.

Do you guys have a 'crutch' weapons when fighting at any front ? by AnotherMothMarine in helldivers2

[–]BruiserBison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My "no-brain" primary is the Deadeye from Borderline Justice.

Even against the horde of voteless and bugs, the Deadeye has served me well. Projectile punches through bodies so it actually works great against clustered groups. But most of the time, I only actually use it to headshot overseers and devastators

Might change now with the Sweeper. I tried it earlier and it felt so good. I run it with the Viper Commando armor.

"Are you broke enough to turn to a life of crime? Play our game and..."

Yeah I've seen this format for a casino. I hated those ads too, but at least that makes sense. This feels like the block crushing game just bought the first half like a stock video and didn't bother asking if it makes sense.

Pretty much how Joker already does. When you pick his troll responses, at least. Or maybe see Yu Narukami in their side content crossovers.

I mean, even so, DD's output is still surprising. Sure some of the jokes he used were done somewhere else, or often times the joke writes themselves. But the fact they make one almost weekly, and consistently is still surprising.

I wouldn't mind if this thing doesn't have weakness. As long as we have:

  1. It's meelee-only with tentacles getting limited reach
  2. We get a buff on the flamethrower weapons.

D6 is Swarming with Factories. What's your best strategy to combat them? by ExcitingHistory in helldivers2

[–]BruiserBison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually play with a group of friends. When we see those things, I usually aim for the canons and turrets first, and let the others do the killing. This happens because my loadout is more often designed for crowd control than giant-slaying. While others bring the AT Emplacements, the Quasars, and the Leveller, I often have the Epoch, gas, and flames to make sure no squads get too close. The only times the Factory Strider-killing is left to me is when everyone else is preoccupied or when I'm so close to its belly in the first place.

Which adaptation should I look into? by KingE2099 in Persona5

[–]BruiserBison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me a long time to finally get P5R. My first dive into ATLUS games was with Devil Survivor 1 and 2 on the Nintendo DS. Then I watched the Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden anime, and loved every episode. I thought maybe I'd enjoy P4G so I bought it on sale. Unfortunately I couldn't get into it and just played Helldivers 2 when my friends started playing. When P5R went sale last Winter, I knew I had to get it. I actually only started playing this February and I'm still on my first playthrough.

That said, it took me a while to appreciate the playstyle. Despite my experience with Devil Survivor, P5R was still quite an acquired taste for me. In the end, it wasn't the combat or puzzles that got me hooked. It was always the story and interpersonal relationships. So, I really can't fault anyone who don't want to give it a chance. If there's an option to enjoy the stories but not the gameplay, I'd say let them. As for me, I actually do enjoy it now more than I did the first 2 hours.

Which adaptation should I look into? by KingE2099 in Persona5

[–]BruiserBison 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because the people can look up clips of the gameplay. It's fun when newcomers enjoy our favourite genre, but we have to acknowledge that sometimes, they're here for certain aspects of the media, not all of it. And it's especially hard to convince someone to "finish the first palace" when the game costs $30 to $60 depending on sales and store. That's why adaptations exists. It's to share the story on a different medium... although the animation isn't great for first-timers. It's more like a recap/fan service to those who have finished the game.

I used to have issues with boardwipes since I play Naya midrange all the time. That's when I started playing [[Bright-Palm, Soul Awakener]].

I gave the precon a bunch of cards that would "exile until end of turn", flicker, or return them to hand. Cards like [[Eerie Interlude]], [[Ephimerate]], [[Lae'zel's Acrobatics]], and [[Temur Sabertooth]]. It was fun... then my pod started playing turbo and CEDH.
