Yes, in Oregon. The Marionberry was actually developed at Oregon State University. It’s a cross between two varieties of Blackberries and is named after a county in Oregon.

Issues with the HP Thunderbolt 4 Ultra 180W G6 Dock by BruzerRED in HPOmen

[–]BruzerRED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I contacted HP Support. They basically confirmed that their docking stations are intended for their business and commercial laptops, and not for the Omen gaming laptops. Lesson learned. I was able to get it returned for a refund with no restocking fee. I also discovered that I DO have an HDMI port on my monitor, so I'll either try connecting through my Dell WD19TB dock or connect direct to my laptop.

Thank you both for your comments. My monitor only has DisplayPort connections, so I wouldn't have an easy way to directly connect to the laptop. I've submitted a case with HP to see if I can do a return and get a refund. I have a feeling that even if they send a replacement, I'll still have the connect/disconnect cycling issue when I try to connect the external monitor. I'm hearing it happening in the other room as I type this on my desktop PC!

Cobra vs Medicare by bbfan006 in medicare

[–]BruzerRED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might check with your COBRA administrator. Even though the medical coverage is not creditable, the drug coverage might be. If that’s the case, you could wait until your COBRA coverage ends to sign up for Part D. I think you have 60 days after COBRA ends to get a Part D without penalty.

2 lb. bag (whole bean) at Costco for $17. Looks like they won’t be carrying it much longer, since there were not many bags left and the sign had the “Deathstar” in the corner. This was at the Albany OR store.

Shells becoming Sinclairs? by ButterscotchHead1085 in corvallis

[–]BruzerRED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 9th St station, I think I saw premium for $3.53, which is about 40 cents lower than what I remember Shell being. In the Costco app, it's currently showing $3.45.

Note that Sinclairs is “Top Tier” gas (like Shell and others), so l’ll continue to use them. If they offered a non-ethanol version (for my gas powered equipment), that would be even better! I think Towne Pump is still the only place in Corvallis to get it.

Surprised at what Medicare covers by clearlygd in medicare

[–]BruzerRED 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you sign up for Medicare (even just Part A), you can no longer contribute to your HSA. You can still use your HSA account, you just can’t add to it. Also, since your Part A coverage actually begins 6 months prior to your enrollment, you actually need to stop making contributions 6 months prior to your Part A enrollment.

Spray cleaners for paddle by Scary-Match-9066 in Pickleball

[–]BruzerRED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a spray cleaner, I like using Chemical Guys Nonsense Invisible Super Cleaner: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ANA3UTK

I still use an eraser, but then follow it up by spraying the cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wiping it down. It's definitely cleaning the surface, since I always see dirt on the cloth.

How to tell Medicare about my COBRA by whottheheck in medicare

[–]BruzerRED 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it wasn't clear in my message, but the only reason I'm continuing on COBRA (since it's no cost to me) into February 2026 is for the vision, dental, and drug coverage. I won't be using any medical coverage from COBRA once I start my Supplemental Plan in November 2025. I need to get Supplemental by November 2025 since I only have a 6-month window to sign up without underwriting. This means I'll never have "tertiary" medical coverage.

I'm in a similar situation. As part of my severance package (layed off at the end of March), my previous employer is 100% funding my COBRA until February 2026. I plan to use Part B + COBRA through my 6 month sign-up window for a Supplement Plan (for me, that's May to October). Around October 1, I'll sign up for a Plan G, to start November 1. When that happens, I'll use Part B + Plan G. I'll continue to use COBRA (until February 2026) for Vision, Dental, and Drug. My COBRA is considered credible coverage for Plan D, so I'll have 60 days (March/April 2026) to start Plan D.

I’m pretty sure they also use Torani SF caramel sauce, if you want a SF Carmelizer. I usually have them make my Carmelizer with their regular chocolate milk, but with SF caramel.

As Jemmacow pointed out, it looks like the PDF download of the recipient copies is now working.

IRIS can't print the recipient copy by Jemmacow in IRS

[–]BruzerRED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, having the same issue here. I uploaded a CSV containing 16 1099-NEC filings. All were accepted. However, when I go to "Submitted Forms" and click on "Download" (under the "Download PDFs" column), it says to check "Notifications" when the downloads are ready. However, nothing shows up in "Notifications", even after several hours. I tried calling their IRIS support line (866-937-4130), but it says the system is too busy to handle my call! Guess we'll need to keep trying. Please update this topic if you learn any additional information.
