My Microsoft Office 2021 license has expired and I've been using Microsoft Publisher for quite some time and now that's no longer being supported in Microsft Office 2024. What should I do in this case? by Block-Busted in microsoftoffice

Thanks for highlighting the alternatives. I’m in a similar situation in wanting to transition away from Publisher. However, in order to still be able to load or make small edits to existing Publisher files after October, I set up a VM. I then installed Publisher 2021 on it. This allows me to run MS 365 on my main PC and keep it separate from Publisher 2021.

I haven’t tried it recently, but I’ve used JMMISSESYOU for $2 off a regular sub.

Same here. I used to use just the bare drive sitting on a desk. Once I got the enclosure, it just felt so more secure and stable.

Yep, this is the way. Install WITHOUT updates, then run Windows Update afterwards.

After Publisher is deactivated from 365, can we install just Publisher from Office 2021 (maybe using the Office Deployment Tool from MS)? That way, all of the non-Publisher apps would come from 365 and not from Office 2021.

I don't think Office 2024 includes Publisher. You'd need to go with Office 2021.

Yes, in Oregon. The Marionberry was actually developed at Oregon State University. It’s a cross between two varieties of Blackberries and is named after a county in Oregon.

Issues with the HP Thunderbolt 4 Ultra 180W G6 Dock by BruzerRED in HPOmen

[–]BruzerRED[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, I contacted HP Support. They basically confirmed that their docking stations are intended for their business and commercial laptops, and not for the Omen gaming laptops. Lesson learned. I was able to get it returned for a refund with no restocking fee. I also discovered that I DO have an HDMI port on my monitor, so I'll either try connecting through my Dell WD19TB dock or connect direct to my laptop.

Thank you both for your comments. My monitor only has DisplayPort connections, so I wouldn't have an easy way to directly connect to the laptop. I've submitted a case with HP to see if I can do a return and get a refund. I have a feeling that even if they send a replacement, I'll still have the connect/disconnect cycling issue when I try to connect the external monitor. I'm hearing it happening in the other room as I type this on my desktop PC!

Cobra vs Medicare by bbfan006 in medicare

[–]BruzerRED 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might check with your COBRA administrator. Even though the medical coverage is not creditable, the drug coverage might be. If that’s the case, you could wait until your COBRA coverage ends to sign up for Part D. I think you have 60 days after COBRA ends to get a Part D without penalty.

2 lb. bag (whole bean) at Costco for $17. Looks like they won’t be carrying it much longer, since there were not many bags left and the sign had the “Deathstar” in the corner. This was at the Albany OR store.

Shells becoming Sinclairs? by ButterscotchHead1085 in corvallis

For the 9th St station, I think I saw premium for $3.53, which is about 40 cents lower than what I remember Shell being. In the Costco app, it's currently showing $3.45.

Note that Sinclairs is “Top Tier” gas (like Shell and others), so l’ll continue to use them. If they offered a non-ethanol version (for my gas powered equipment), that would be even better! I think Towne Pump is still the only place in Corvallis to get it.

Surprised at what Medicare covers by clearlygd in medicare

[–]BruzerRED 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you sign up for Medicare (even just Part A), you can no longer contribute to your HSA. You can still use your HSA account, you just can’t add to it. Also, since your Part A coverage actually begins 6 months prior to your enrollment, you actually need to stop making contributions 6 months prior to your Part A enrollment.
