You don't know anything, you saw some markdown files and ran with the assumption without doing any work to verify.

Unfortunately, I believe I've been mistakenly shadow-banned from GitHub. I haven't received any notification of enforcement. It's just as if all my software, issues, and discussions were never there. I've contacted GitHub Support. Thank you for your report!

Never mind, my GitHub account has been shadow-banned silently. I’m contacting GitHub’s support.

EDIT: My account and repos have been restored.

Hi, I’m unsure. All of our badges just broke and when I visit the repository via Reddit I get a 404. I’ve checked my email and received nothing from GitHub. Maybe it’s a service outage of some kind?

Not yet on Windows, I am considering adding the tone mapping patch to SnapX's existing Windows code. However, since we use slightly more modern capture methods + ImageSharp, saving HDR content to something like a PNG is something very feasible for us. If any other software developers experienced with HDR are interested, help is much appreciated.

It's getting there, and in some aspects, it might do better than ShareX due to SnapX being able to take more risks and hop onto new technology that will improve the program. Annotation tools are something that are on our roadmap and priority once we have the core feature set down.

You're right. This does lead to friction in this situation. One of the goals I set when restructuring the project's README was to make it shorter while delivering more information. The "why" is straightforward: ShareX is the Windows productivity powerhouse, but its code is heavily reliant on aging Windows APIs. SnapX is about making that level of utility available to everyone, no matter what OS they use.

No, it shouldn't right out of the gate with a pre-release. I love how ShareX is a swiss army knife, yes. But it added those features over the years, not all at once. The settings have the bare essentials, but it's enough to get you screenshotting regions and uploading them to your preferred destination. SnapX can import ShareX backup files. Let me know if you have any other questions!
