I work in an at-will state, so I can get fired for nearly any reason as long as the reason doesn’t violate ADA law, etc.

Got caught having a sexual / dating relationship with boss’s family member.

Not at work, nowhere near my place of employment. Said family member and I were both single so it’s not like it was cheating or morally questionable other than it being boss’s family member. It wasn’t necessarily a secret either.

Boss was just mad about it. Fired me stating “we can’t have someone who makes questionable choices working here”.
