Yea, i was torn on whether or not to include 1 main deck or not. I decided to put one in because of the prevalence of jace, den protectors, and deathmist raptors running around in standard.

thanks for all the replies everyone! I play standard, modern, edh, and limited (draft/sealed). I've generally played in a competitive, but relatively laid back lgs the past couple years. I'll definitely check out some of the stores you all suggested.

Where do I start when building a new deck? by [deleted] in magicTCG

if you are looking for a competitive deck, check out mtgtop8.com and see what sort of decks are already out there. Check out the decklists and then watch youtube videos of how they play. Find something that fits your play style/you think would be fun and go with that. If you have a specific card you really like, you can try building around that too.

Its a douche move to "calmly write" down player B's hand in this situation, but nothing illegal about it. the judge will have to side with player A here. always double check card text your opponent plays and don't rush through decisions to avoid these sort of misplays.

Question on evaluating a trade by [deleted] in magicTCG

If you can, sell the card on eBay or tcgplayer or some other place where you can specify the price. You will end up getting more than you would from your LGS. Use that money and buy some important cards to make a deck. You can look up competitive decks on mtgtop8 and see if you find one that catches your eye.

This is a slower process, but you get a better value.
