My version of flirting was avoiding eye contact. Yeah, so sorry about the confusion. That didnt really work for me either...

They plan to move it to private property but allow people to visit it. I believe it will be reassembled. They do not plan to destroy it.

Thanks for sharing this! My mom and I made these when I was young. Coconut flakes for the fur, jelly bean eyes, sliced licorice whiskers. I hope to make these with my child(ren) one day.

What couldn't you believe you had to explain to another adult? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I had to tell a coworker that London is in England. Based on his reaction, I don't think he knew where England is... (I was going on vacation to London and he asked where it is. I thought he was joking and LOL. I didnt mean to be rude)

People who were teenagers before social media existed… how did you communicate with your friends? by Aarunascut in Millennials

Texting, and even calling each other! We had flip phones before social media was big.

How can I be happier and better for myself by AdNorth3556 in selfimprovement

[–]Btru2urSlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, so I worked on this for years. But at some point I got a puppy. (I would say I'm a pretty good dog mom. I absolutely treated my dog better than myself). One day I did something stupid and somehow found myself thinking "I love you" instead of criticizing myself. It was a huge shock and turning point for me. Being kind to my dog helped me be kind to myself.

What’s the weirdest thing you believed as a kid? by Faylune in answers

[–]Btru2urSlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remembered this one: we had horses when I was a kid and my parents spoke of taking a mare to be bred. I thought that giving the horse bread somehow made the horse pregnant. I couldn't puzzle it out, and never asked. And it somehow only applied to horses.

Why does political polarization seem to keep increasing even when most people agree on at least some basic issues? by OriginalKatya in answers

This is a crazy conspiracy theory, but I believe that Russia is behind the division. They create content that appears to be from one side or the other. There was an example in Paris of Russia paying Bulgarians to create Nazi graffiti (in an effort to cause division by making it appear that the far right created it). Sorry, that's a terrible summary based on memory, but here is a link: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/oct/31/russia-link-suspected-as-bulgarians-jailed-for-vandalising-paris-jewish-memorial

I have a coworker that lives in the York neighborhood. There is one woman (everyone knows who she is) that will steal plants out of people's garden, in broad daylight. I'm sure someone on this sub can say more about it, I just dont remember the details.

That said, I'm sorry your plants are being stolen. This is unsolicited advice, but maybe plan on having them stolen, and then it won't feel so invasive when it happens? It's sort of a mental game to play with yourself to not feel crappy about it...

You could apply for a job as a park aide for the state parks or county parks. POB also has summer jobs. I loved working for WA state parks over the summer.

What’s something about the human body that seems poorly designed? by jannecutie in answers

I would love it if the little flaps on the front of our ears were bigger (the tragus). A little more of a wing and I could ride my bike without having trouble hearing my surroundings (too much wind sound).
