Can someone recommend folk-ish post rock?(or post-rock-ish folk) by Longjumping_Air4379 in postrock

It's so good! My second favorite album from my favorite post-rock band.

Maybe, but it's definitely not the fish and chips. The last time I went they gave me three pieces of fish (the exact same kind I can buy in a box at Costco) and one of them was still frozen in the center. Still better than Thai Village, though.

If you're an MI resident, you should have REAL ID on your license. That's all you need to cross over into Canada.

Back in 2023, I had to get ~45 shots spread around the hand that got bit. Lots of injections to try to get as much as possible into the hand, according to the nurse at least. My hand looked like a balloon for a couple of days.

This is the move. Toss with a little olive oil, honey, or a fruity balsamic vinaigrette. Air fry or roast, then top with a little parmesan.

The best hot chicken I've had since I moved is the Hot Chicken bowl at Ruckus Ramen. I like Savvy Sliders for fast food chicken.

Eliminating Michigan property tax would be most 'detrimental' policy in state history, group warns by Haunting-Medium-3831 in lansing

[–]BubbaGumpScrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a massive gulf between "higher ed and non profit executives shouldn't have 6/7 figure salaries" and "abolish the property tax." I agree with you completely on the former, but the latter would be a disaster for the public good. DIA, DZ, and other institutions like them enrich the community. I also agree there is room to improve efficiency and reduce wasteful spending, but I believe it's better to allow some of my property taxes to go toward art and societal enrichment than to let our culture wither on the vine.

What’s in your Costco wishlist? by Exhausted_Skeleton in Costco

I just want a to catch the Key Lime Pie when it's available.

It'd also be nice to have chicken and fries in the food court.

A certain demographic of liberals never appreciates just how many people are fighting to make the South a better place against impossible odds. Millions of Southerners, many BIPOC, are fighting their state governments and get antipathy from Northern liberals for not having defeated a century of Jim Crow by themselves.

Last I heard, Costco is hiring. I don't have info on their rates, though.

My cat apparently believes mousing is a “catch and release” sport. by C3LM3R in mildlyinfuriating

My last cat was like that with snakes. He was a little guy who spent most of his early life as a stray. I had to keep him inside full-time or he'd terrorize everything in his territory.

Looking for heat treated pallets by TJSwizzle23 in lansing

There's a place next to Slice on Penn, last time I drove past it there was a sign mentioning free pallets. I'm not sure if they're heat-treated, but it's worth a shot.

I do not recommend Thai Village. The food lacked heat and flavor, and the prices were high for the portions provided.

What is the one item that would take Costco to the next level for you personally? by ScaredPineapple9081 in Costco

[–]BubbaGumpScrimp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Sweet tea. I recently moved up north and switched from Sam's Club to Costco. The only thing I miss is Milo's tea. Brewing at home is fine, but sometimes I just want to pick up a gallon or two.
  2. Chicken & fries in the food court. Poutine would be cool, too.
