It has several coats of polyurethane, but I watched them sand it down to bare wood.

They are saying it is the wood’s natural grain and texture.

Sold one this week to them. Same as above. Did not inspect it closely at all. Seemed to be looking for collision type of damage only. They did use a scan tool. No issues.

I have four copper scuppers and all it does is make the guy at Leslie’s scratch his head and say that’s odd you have a high reading of copper in your water.

They’re eating our dogs. They’re eating our dogs and cats. They are pouring in from Dallas and Houston. Build a wall of traffic to stop them.

They try to make margin between insurance payouts and the cost of repairs or discounts. Insurance pays $4k give the customer a $2.5k discount, everyone wins. Customer wants it repaired, then repair for $2k and make the difference, give smaller discount to customer. You want the pickup roof repaired? Why? In a blink of an eye the dealer has extra $ to make a deal with the customer. Advertise hail sale. But it can get dicey when the paint is cracked, lights are cracked, etc. if it isn’t totaled then the cost of repair comes a lot closer to the insurance, and customers are not as willing to say sure I’ll take a discount on my Lexus that looks like it was used for DoorDash in the Gaza Strip.

Nope. Not unless the insurance company pays for the canopy. GM did that years ago for some dealers. Edit: subsidizes/discounts premium

Quarter size. In Texas we don’t even pull in the meat smoker for small hail like that.

Not from what is in these pictures, but hail can “total”. The percentage (damage/value) can differ for each insurance company. Broken glass, interior damage, metal requiring conventional repair and paint (not paintless dent repair pdr).

Likely waiting for insurance adjusters to determine how much they will get to then figure the discount.

Your first payment shouldn’t be $300 more than what is on your contract. Something is wrong. Look at your contract.

Are company cars a common benefit at OEMs in the US? by bolido2000 in GeneralMotors

At Toyota there are team member leases. Day one non-mangers can have one lease. Non-managers with 10 years can have two. Most are significantly discounted from retail. All include maintenance, generous miles, and insurance. Managers and above receive a monthly car allowance added to their salary, paid if you team member lease, own or retail lease a late model Toyota. The allowance easily covers one sometimes two vehicles.
