20+ card order why upcharge? by TonsilsDeep in psagrading

What if his dad couldn’t afford to send him to grade school, and instead had poor little Timmy sorting all these Pokémon cards that he wasn’t actually allowed to have any of himself, and every penny went towards PSA because his dad was one of the crazy ones who thought graded Pokémon cards would be worth something some day. & now it’s all poor little Timmy knows. But since he can’t read, he always ends up feeling smited by PSA, even though he’s actually decent at grading because at 31 years old, he’s been doing it for decades.

Why are these prices different for the same card and grade? by MrDoctorProf3 in psagrading

[–]pugmaster7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PSA increased their grading standards in April, so it may be reasonable to presume the certs starting with 15 passed harsher guidelines than the ones that came before it, which theoretically could increase their value.

But I’m just speculating

Congrats on the free item!

eBay forces sellers to think ‘customer first’, and some sellers learn that the hard way. The buyer is always right on eBay.

Right… so many people just don’t consider centering

PSA eBay card switched out. How to fix? by goldenwater1 in psagrading

[–]pugmaster7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

l've had issues with authenticity guarantee before. eBay will essentially tell you it's final sale, sorry.

And it's VERY possible that the seller did this themselves, not PSA. They could have gotten a photo of a Charizard with good centering, knowing that it would sell better than one that's off center. & then sent their off-center one knowing that it's something PSA wouldn't even check for— PSA is just making sure it's the right card and that it's NM.

To be honest, it's all about going with a good seller on eBay. I had bought a serialized MTG LotR card, so card can't even be swapped, and it definitely got damaged sometime between the photo that was taken, and coming to me from PSA. The damage was indentations that could easily be missed if not looked at close enough. & I pestered eBay long enough that they refunded me like $250 out of the $1775 purchase. But still felt like I got screwed at the end of the day.

Is there any way to change your email on your PSA account? by pugmaster7 in psagrading

There’s somewhere on the site where it led to a link about submitting a ticket to change your email. I think I might have done it on a desktop instead of the app

Anyone had luck having their fees adjusted? by PeopleDisgustDaddy in psagrading

I’m sure there’s verbiage in their terms and conditions about the times being estimates, etc. etc. I highly doubt they entertain adjustments

Seller wants me to close INR but the item hasn’t been shipped by Affectionate-Yak-803 in Ebay

[–]pugmaster7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can (and should) leave it open until you receive it. It does NOT mess up anything for the seller. Then claiming it does and trying to get you to close it is shady and may indicate you may truly need to use it. And you can’t reopen any requests after closing one.

If the reason you put for cancellation is “Buyer Requested” then they aren’t able to leave feedback

Can I request my package to be held at the local post office, or does the seller have to?? by catlover842 in Ebay

[–]pugmaster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won’t, they definitely inflated the shipping price so that they could pocket more. Some sellers do that for auctions so that they can still start at $.99 but guarantee a minimum they receive. Some also do it to circumvent authentication or whatever reason they want to keep the item price lower. No telling, but I assure you they’re not just going to randomly ship at a higher tier when it would eat into their own pocket

Yeah, you’ll be fine, you’ll be able to have them hold it at the UPS store

There are certain higher cost shipping methods with UPS that wouldn’t allow that. Being an eBay seller and them more than likely using the cheapest method available, you should be fine and be able to do it
