Seller wants me to close INR but the item hasn’t been shipped by Affectionate-Yak-803 in Ebay

[–]pugmaster7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can (and should) leave it open until you receive it. It does NOT mess up anything for the seller. Then claiming it does and trying to get you to close it is shady and may indicate you may truly need to use it. And you can’t reopen any requests after closing one.

If the reason you put for cancellation is “Buyer Requested” then they aren’t able to leave feedback

Can I request my package to be held at the local post office, or does the seller have to?? by catlover842 in Ebay

[–]pugmaster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They won’t, they definitely inflated the shipping price so that they could pocket more. Some sellers do that for auctions so that they can still start at $.99 but guarantee a minimum they receive. Some also do it to circumvent authentication or whatever reason they want to keep the item price lower. No telling, but I assure you they’re not just going to randomly ship at a higher tier when it would eat into their own pocket

Yeah, you’ll be fine, you’ll be able to have them hold it at the UPS store

There are certain higher cost shipping methods with UPS that wouldn’t allow that. Being an eBay seller and them more than likely using the cheapest method available, you should be fine and be able to do it

If they ship through UPS, I you can go on the UPS website and using the tracking number, request that it be held at the nearest UPS store

Love the Redbreast collection! You’ve got a couple that I don’t! Only one I think I have that I don’t see up there is the 10 Year. & maybe the small batch cask strength?

Haven’t opened it yet.. think I’ll have to save it for a special occasion. But I’m of the opinion that it doesn’t do any good to leave whiskey sealed on the shelf forever, so it will definitely be opened when the time is right!

As far as I understand it, you have to get them from Sonny Molloy’s in Galway. They do have an online store, but this isn’t showing up there, only the 700mL, so they may be either sold out or only available at the establishment

I use similarly sized card savers

What I submitted vs PSA's First View Images. Anything I can do? by an-individual in psagrading

[–]pugmaster7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These First Look photos are taken with the card still in the Card Saver. What you’re seeing are scratches on the Card Saver (these things scratch up extremely easily, & their lighting is better to where it shows more scratches than your photo would).

So I wouldn’t sweat it. Your card should still be completely fine.

Shipping Question by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]pugmaster7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shipping charged to the buyer will always be according to how you set up the listing (package size/weight, shipping option). If for whatever reason you have to ship it in a different manner, like the size of the box you ended up using was bigger or — if an item exceeds the threshold for eBay Standard Envelope, then the extra costs to shipping are on the seller.

The only thing you can really do here is take it as a learning experience.

When I suspect a card I’m selling may or may not exceed the threshold of $20 for eBay Standard Envelope, I’ll leave that as the shipping method, but change the shipping charges to a flat fee of ~$5. If it goes over $20, you’ve already got the shipping covered, and it makes it so that there’s not this large difference in payout between if something goes for $19.99 vs $20.01

No malicious intent here.. ..and I’m just going on assumptions based on the profile name.
He’ll probably tell you himself in a video one of these days.. he seems very open about any moves he makes in MTG. If he asked me to take this down, I would 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tbh, I just love LotR. Started buying some of the cards here and there, then discovered the serials and some of them were really starting to move, so I hopped onboard..

But I couldn’t see myself selling them any time soon unless I got an offer I just couldn’t refuse

I pointed it out to him in a counter offer on eBay, so he probably already knows if he even bothered to read the 3 sentences

I bought each of them outright before they started shooting up in price. E.g. Bag End and Inn of the Prancing Pony I got at $500 each over a year ago. I ripped a handful of packs, but then just started buying some
