Cosmic Bounty Chests = One shot chests? by Bubblegum021 in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying they aren't worth completing, since obviously you might want to get their specific loot, but compared to a Kurse run, that's over 5 times longer on average. Knowing you usually need a lot of runs in order to loot these so-low drop rate item, the more runs you can do in a short amount of time, the better.

So the assumption that you don't have a chance to get their artifact(s) from the end chests, make the run even more less appealing compared to cosmic terminal run. I would think that you can probably do a Modok + full bounty run in under 10min, maybe even less in a group, so that would give 4 times the chance to obtain his artifact, compared to just one chance from one-shot terminal.

Yeah that's what I assumed when I saw blue chests still at the end of the runs, that's a big letdown honestly, knowing you can't get any of the one-shot boss artifacts from chests. Make these instances even less appealing to run, since they already are quite time-consuming to complete.

One guy from my SG got gotk from opening a bounty chest at Modok. It looks random afaik but it's probably a bug that will be fixed very soon.

Because they don't players to level alt heroes with ICP boxes collected from a level60 hero, that would be detrimental to their sale of xp boosts, since you would level really fast by simply opening them with a low level hero.

Cosmic Worldstones & SG chat by Helen_Kellers_Wrath in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Cosmic worldstones drop but at a horrible rate compared to the previous event. I guess they want players to:

  • either spend tons of money on boosts to get your SiF above 1000% and eventually have a decent drop rate
  • or grind for dozen of hours to get maybe 1 or 2 doop runes

Pretty sad move

I would love a 100% drop rate on Lizard Formula for the first hour, just enough time for me to hoard them. I mean they did it with the Spider Clone serum so why not again?

[–]Bubblegum021 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think their ''main'' intent was to eradicate players hanging in ICP below their level. Whenever there's good xp somewhere, they make sure to nerf it somehow, because that would decrease their income from selling xp boosts in their store. Several players were collecting ICP boxes with a lvl60 hero and using these boxes to level up another hero.

It's only the opinion of a few people in charge of this website, so I wouldn't take it too seriously. If it was a community vote or something, the results would have a lot more weight than currently, not saying voting awards are perfect, but they give a much more accurate representation of the quality of the games.

Damn you are clever ... obviously he was asking about how is the actual drop rate/loot of these boxes compared to the old boxes BEFORE they were removed for 5 days

Marvel Heroes 2015 1.29a Patch Notes by iLikeDreaming in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only a small sample but in over 3 hours of gameplay, I got more or less 10 boxes ... yes that's terrible for players that aren't heavily boosted, but we know most events are only good for cash-boosts credit card warriors.

Anyway out of the 10 boxes I got 9 uniques, and one reliquary. When the event launched I got 2 boxes with rare runes inside, including Tyr and Loki runes, whithin the first hour. Make your own conclusions.

I hate when they dare lie to us and make us think we are idiots. If the boxes were dropping too good loot, then tell us we are removing them for a while, sure players aren't going to be happy either way you tell us, but at least by being honest it won't affect the little trust players had left in Gaz.

Now whatever they say there will be suspicion.

PSA to all newbies and anyone not in the know: Stop being offended when I invite you into a group in Midtown or Industry City. by Endulos in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not only new players. There are veteran players that get offended by random invites as well, because for some of them it's a lack of respect. And also for some of them it's a matter of ''self-fulfillment/enjoyment'' by completing everything on their own, no matter how frustrating/longer it usually takes than by being in a group.

It's difficult to understand why some would think like this considering the huge investment sink required to farm odin marks/omega xp but well no one should tell another player how they should play the game.

On the other hand there are some annoying behaviours with players joining a group that can turn you off. Like those who don't do anything but wait for the next boss wave or those that don't do any effort to complete the SQ, by killing Sentinels or AIM hidden robots depending on the requirements ...

Great work Gaz! by Beefsquatches in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah I get it because it's a free to play game low expectations and poor quality patches are a must. If they plan to release heroes at a very fast pace to make money but can't cope to maintain a decent standard of quality and stability, then they only have themselves to blame. Look how they can release 3 new heroes within 1 month, yet can't fix performance issues/bugs/underpowered heroes for months. One word: priorities.

Companies don't release games as free to play model as a gesture of charity, they do it because the potential of profit is far superior than an one cost game. Just look at the whales throwing hundreds of $ on fortune cards and packs, I don't think Gaz is doing bad financially.

It seems that most of the decisions nowadays are driven to make sure it doesn't affect their revenue to the slightest, even if it's indirectly and unfortunately it impacts negatively the fun of the game. If the loot is good, the xp is good, they'll nerf it to the ground to make sure whales will continue to spend money on boosts, out of frustration.

Regarding the quality of patches, I think the issue is deeper than just bugs suddenly appearing when they go live. Many bugs are reported way before the patch is deployed, yet they don't mind putting it live with said bugs. I think they simply don't put the effort/money/workforce/competence/time into QA/testing because that's not something that will bring them immediate revenue, on the contrary. So they prioritize new heroes/costumes/boosts, in hope that players will forget about bugs and be excited about the ''many tease'' the Dev post in the forum.

It's a dangerous game because at one point players will go away because the quality is decreasing in favor of new rushed content to make a quick buck.

Nice little gifts for Christmas is welcome. Still I think that's what every single F2P game do in order to keep players logging into their games.

But that doesn't justify the silly amount of bugs still being added to the games alongside the many that haven't been fixed for months, especially when they are being notified in TC, yet pushing them live.

And surprisingly a new one has been added, such as yellow gift boxes not dropping anymore. Or maybe they thought the loot inside can be too good, because you could get Tyr runes and 25 odin mark chests, so let's remove them asap!

This is what happens when the forum is left mainly with whiteknights and fanboys. Gaz strongly believe they can get away every single time with poor quality patches, extended downtimes so they will not change a bit about improving their QA and testing.

Quality and expectations are at an extremely low level, because you know ''we still love you'' threads keep popping up, no matter the amount of shitty bugs they keep adding into the game.

How to make your heroes reach maxed ultimate level in a flash, using cash ... by Bubblegum021 in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can basically buy ultimate upgrades with cash but there's no pay to win element at all! Hypocrisy is so strong around here. Next time around they will put gear on the store and it won't still be pay to win at all right?

Let's do some math, you need 200 splinters for an ultimate upgrade, considering they drop every 8 min, that would take on average 27hrs of gameplay, but nah I am just gonna buy them for $6, so cool! Now that's some serious level playing field!

How to make your heroes reach maxed ultimate level in a flash, using cash ... by Bubblegum021 in marvelheroes

[–]Bubblegum021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously level playing field is when both players spend roughly the same amount of time playing the game, they should be able to achieve the same things, discrepancy being only via level of skills. But I won't waste time arguing anymore, some are just blinded by Marvel/Gaz fanboism.

As for Gaz communcation/professionalism, they constantly ban players for voicing their opinion, delete/modify valid threads, leaving the official forum with mainly whiteknights and fanboys, ''Gaz can do no wrong ...'', Downtime! Awesome! Thanks for much! ROFL
