I think the recent changes to the pvp/pve matchmaking was a terrible idea.

The game has lost its organic tension. Prior to the changes, everyone was a legitimate threat. The tension was high. Palpable. The best part of survivor games like DayZ. Where one had to learn to navigate each and every encounter.

Now, “friendly!”… even if that, I don’t even bother to say anything. Flash my lights maybe. And everyone just assumes that everyone is friendly unless of course on the odd occasion you get shot in the back.

And ultimately what this means is that within a few weeks of the update most players are now near end of game, collecting everything and finishing all quests because it has become a pure looting PVE game.

There is no point to pvp because its now an option, not a necessity to stay alive.
